clay ornaments

December 6th | DIY, inspiration

hi there
Matthias and I had so much fun with a bucket of air dry clay and cookie cutters! We rolled our the clay on wax paper and poked holes with a straw. Let them dry for a day or two and then add twine. So easy!

Do you have any Christmas crafting planned?

These are a blast! We like to let them dry then decorate them with designs and names of folks we’re gifting to then use them as gift tags. Some of the best fun we have in this house!

  5. I will actually make these, like this weekend. Thanks so much!

I’m in the process of making my own “Noel” banner, inspiration via:

It’s the 3rd photo down hanging over the fireplace.

I’m using an old red curtain for cloth.

  10. What a great idea! I think my guys would love this! I think I’ll have to pick some up this week and plan a craft day with the boys. :)

    Hi Lisa-
I just wanted to say hi and say that I am loving your blog.
I have been reading a whole bunch of stuff. Your photography is sensational and your style is great. I read your sister’s story about the girls, how wonderful (I am a therapist and do a lot of work with adoption), I also read about David and clicked on the foundation website to learn more about his challenges. You are so strong and positive and I love reading about that.
And, no, I’m not a crazy stalker. I ordered a bracelet from you for my mom and found the blog from the order.
I am wondering is this a big business? I’ve had a few people from your company contact me, so I am guessing this isn’t a one-woman show. How cool is that.
Also, have you posted any pictures of your “workshop”?That would be cool to see. For the record, I am also loving this font. That’s it from my babbling. Glad to have found you.

Hi Laurie! Thanks for your sweet comment. Yes, I have help–a team of amazing people who help with production and customer service. And my husband runs the business. Also, I am hoping to post pics of the workshop soon. Sending hugs! L

Oh my gosh, been a busy day, wasn’t sure I’d make it here today but, whew!, here I am. Love, love, love the ornaments. The air dry clay is so great! It can be spongy sometimes (my experience).

Last week’s What I Make Wednesday was a Family Advent Tree. Here’s the link:

Be sure to check out tomorrow’s What I Made Wednesday! I took Sweet Gum Tree spikies (not their official name) and made very cool wreaths. I hope you think to check it out tomorrow. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!
