hello monday {see canyon fruit ranch}

Hello friends! It’s Monday–and for us it’s the first morning of summer. So yep, we are happy and relaxed and not in a big hurry to go anywhere. Steve performed a wedding at See Canyon Fruit Ranch in Avila Beach–and it’s a breath-taking venue. During the rehearsal on Friday evening, I walked around and snapped some pictures. Let’s say hello to a new week!

Hello apples! Matthias has decided he likes green apples. He’s kind of a picky eater, so I love when he gets excited about healthy foods.

Hello summer! We are officially in lazy morning mode. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to get out of the house before noon.

Hello fresh flowers. I’ve been creating little arrangements from our garden and it makes the house feel happy. It also encourages me to tidy up–so that’s a good thing.

Hello soda. I had four sodas at the wedding on Saturday. I hardly ever drink regular soda–and I went crazy. Yay sugar high!

Hello DIY project to share this week. Hint, it has to do with sailboats.

Hello kitty. Honestly, I’m not much of a cat person, but this cat was super friendly.

Hello berries. My favorites right now are raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. Yum!

Hello taking walks. We’ve been walking to the park, to frozen yogurt and to the grocery store. It makes me happy to walk instead of drive.

Hello summer list! Have you made yours yet? We have already checked off two things!

Hello allergic reaction. We used a new toothpaste for David and he woke up with irritated skin around his mouth. Poor guy.

Hello orange flower. The above is my favorite pic of the bunch. I might have to frame it.

Hello BBQ. Seems like a good week to cook up some burgers.

Hello groceries. We need some–which means I’m off to the store with my menu for the week and a list of basics!

Hello Monday! It’s here–a brand new shiny week.

  1. Awwww summer. I love you. Fruit and days spent outside. Yes, yes, yes, please. Hello sand and salt and swimming and ice cream for dinner.

  2. Hello to your gorgeous pics this week! I love the flower, too, but I’ve gotta say that that kitty cat on FB this morning made my morning brighter! We can’t have a cat (allergies), and I sooo miss them!

Hello to my friend’s surprise 40th birthday party tonight; can’t wait! Hello to my oldest niece’s 8th grade graduation tomorrow night (where did the years go?!). Hello to my last morning with students Wednesday, followed by the rest of the day by myself at the spa because, hey, I deserve it! Hello to the last day of first grade for my daughter and the last day of day care for my other daughter. Hello to having friends over for sangria and cherry lime-ade Friday night. Hello to going on a photo-safari date with my hubby Saturday. Hello summer; good thing it’s here so I can have time for all this fun!

      1. Well, I’m not too sure yet since it’s a first. He actually sent me an evite to ask me on a date! How hilarious is that?! We’re going to Tacoma for the entire day while the kids go to Grandma’s, and we are to both bring our cameras. He is really trying to speak my language! I think we’ll just walk around, exploring and documenting all the cool stuff and interesting angles throughout the journey…it’s something I do, anyway, but he wants to connect, so that sounds good!

  4. Hello, happy Monday! Love all of your summery pictures here!

Had to laugh when you mentioned having 4 sodas…We were cooking out with my family yesterday and I must have had at least a quart of lemonade! I just kept filling my glass. I did finally tell myself that enough was enough.

  5. I love how you inspire us to love Mondays not dread them! That one orange bloom shot is amazing. It looks like the stem has chills from the sunshine view. Love it! Happy Monday!
