wearing wildflowers

what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By March 12, 2014 9 Comments

Hello friends! We’re back from UCLA. It was a good visit. The doctors want David to walk on his injured foot as much as he is able–so that it will heal well. That was great news because we weren’t sure if we should keep him off the foot or encourage walking. Now we know he should get up and go!

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration!

It’s a just a few days from spring and I’m ready!

These floral pants were in the sale section at Banana Republic and I thought they were very fun and spring-y.

Because the print is so bold, I wore the pants with a basic gray tee and gray heels. And of course a denim jacket.

I’ev been pulling my hair back because it’s driving me crazy. I think it needs a trim–it’s too full and frizzy. So a big barrette saves the day.

Have you seen the new wildflowers necklace? I love it!

Personalize the backside of each flower with a special name.

Outfit details: Floral pants, Banana Republic. Gray tee, Target. Heels, H&M. Denim jacket, Gap. Gray bag, Target. Wildflowers necklace, My shop.

How about some mid-week inspiration? I have a fun necklace to share–available TODAY ONLY and an awesome watch from Jord that has stolen my heart. There’s a giveaway at the end–so make sure to read all the way down. I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

We’ve had lots of wet, rainy weather around here. We’re so thankful! But when it’s wet, my hair won’t behave. Argh, it’s so frustrating! Curly hear has a mind of it’s own!

Yesterday was sunny and cool–no rain! So I pulled out my favorite bootie sandals.

I love the neutral bootie, with the neutral bag and this adorable, neutral watch. So easy and fun!

And the sweetheart bracelet {which has been a best seller} is available TODAY ONLY as a necklace. Love it!

I wasn’t too sure about layering these two tops–a button up under a boxy pullover. But it’s always fun to try new things. By the end of the day, I think I liked it. What do you think about layering these two tops?

Outfit details: Blue button up, H&M. Striped top, Target. Coated jeans, Banana Republic. Booties, Target. Bag, Target. So sweet necklace, My shop TODAY ONLY. Word of the year bracelet, My shop. Wood watch, Jord.

And good news! Jord is giving away an Ely Wood Watch {just like the one I’m wearing!} to a lucky reader! Just leave a comment and tell me what your favorite TIME of the day is. {pun intended!} I hope you win!

colder weather, warmer weather

what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By February 26, 2014 12 Comments

Are you longing for warmer weather? Here on the central coast of California, it seems we’ve hardly had winter at all. The mornings are chilly and we’ve had a couple rainy days–but it’s mostly been unseasonably warm. Which is beautiful but we need rain desperately! There is some in the forecast and we’re praying it comes.

I found this dress at Anthropologie and it’s such an easy, versatile style. Perfect for layering or wearing alone on a warm day. I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

Boots and a cargo jacket make for perfect rain wear–especially if it’s a warm rain. Then sandals and a denim jacket work for warmer days.

These boots were Christmas gift from Steve three years ago–and I still love them They’re from Fossil.

And I love dress with pockets, don’t you?

The small floral print and coral color on this dress work well for any season.

You know I love anything with a denim jacket. So easy.

And I’ve been wearing these open toed booties almost every day. Although if it rains this week, I won’t be able to wear them!

The dress this way is perfect for church or lunch with friends.

And one of my all time favorite necklaces–the family tree. I’m so happy to be part of my sweet little family!
Outfit details: Dress, Anthropologie. Cargo Jacket, Old Navy. Boots, Fossil. Denim Jacket, Stitch Fix. Booties, Target. Necklace, My shop.

Do you layer up summer dresses in colder weather?

fair trade, what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By February 19, 2014 3 Comments

Ah! I’m so excited to share our brand new fair trade pieces from the hope{full} collection. This collection provides work for women in Ecuador and each piece purchased feeds a child in need in Ecuador. They are hand-carved from tagua seed and seriously gorgeous. I love the weight and color. And they’re so affordable–starting at only $15!

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

This is a basic outfit, but the pieces from the hope{full} collection make  it fun and give it personality.

The morning mist necklace is adjustable which makes it versatile. And gray is such an easy color to wear!

How cute are the bracelets? I couldn’t decide which one to wear–so I layered both. Which do you prefer–the deep gray or gorgeous red?

Outfit details: Black top, Target. Skinny jeans, Gap. Bootie sandals, Target. Jewelry, New hope{full} pieces from my shop. Bag, Target.

These pieces work perfectly for transitioning from colder weather to warmer weather. Wear them this spring with cozy sweaters and your favorite jeans and then wear them all summer with a flowy dress and sandals. Love!

Any one out there looking forward to spring?

what should i wear today? {winter coats obsession}

what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By February 12, 2014 9 Comments

Hey friends. I’m here to share honestly 😉 I really love a good winter coat–nevermind that I live in California and hardly wear them. They’re just so fun!

Today I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

This first coat was a thrift store find. How AWESOME is it?! I fell hard.

Black and white chevron with fur collar. A match made in heaven.

And that sweet connected necklace will always be a favorite.

This blue wool coat was sent to me from ever+mi crush and it gets worn a lot. I love the fit. You can see more pics here and here.

This cream wool coat was another thrift find. It’s kind of dressy and really warm. More pics of the cream coat here.

This plaid coat came back from England with me when I was pregnant with David–twelve years ago. And I still love it!

I love red. This coat is happy–another thrift find.

Green makes a fun statement. This coat is by Tulle–and I ordered a large {they run a bit small}. I’ve had it about five years and I’ve blogged about it here.

Do you love coats as much as I do?

cozy in the cooler weather

stitch fix, what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By February 5, 2014 16 Comments

We are finally getting some colder weather. Which for many of you would be considered warm weather. We’ve had a high of around 60* the last couple days. But in the mornings it’s in the 30’s. Brrr {ok it’s not that cold but for us it is!!}

So since it’s been a little chilly I layered my new stitch fix skirt with tights that are lined with a cozy furry lining.

If you’re not familiar with stitch fix, it’s a monthly subscription where they send you a box of clothes. You keep what you like, send the rest back. It costs $20 for the stylist to put together items she thinks you’ll like. If you keep anything, you can put the $20 towards clothing. So far I’ve loved every box. It’s like Christmas! So fun. I highly recommend stitch fix. Click here to fill out a style profile.

This is not a sponsored post. There are referral links, but all opinions are my own.

One thing I love about stitch fix is that it helps break me out of ruts. I wouldn’t have chosen this skirt because it’s shorter than I usually wear. But paired with thick tights, it’s fun and different.

Did you notice my hair’s a little blonder? I’ve definitely been getting more attention. I got a marriage proposal from some guy at the grocery store yesterday. And another random guy said to call 9-1-1 because I was so hot. It actually makes me super uncomfortable. I try to laugh it off and get away as quickly as I can.

Rings, rings, rings! I am loving our layering rings. They are the best! And they start at $22! I’ve got two stacking rings and the my heart ring on in this picture. The stacking rings say ‘david’ and ‘matthias’ and the my heart ring says ‘i love you’. So sweet!

And this bracelet? Yeah it’s pretty much the sweetest thing ever! It says ‘you+me 07.99’ {the month/year we got married}

Just a little dash of color with the bracelets.

Outfit details: Skirt, Stitch Fix. Sweater, Banana Republic. Black top, Target. Tights, TJ Maxx. Booties, Dolce Vida. Bag, Target. Bracelet, My shop. Rings, My shop.

What else was in my stitch fix box?
The skirt, denim jacket and scarf on the left are all stitch fix. And the striped sweater on the right is stitch fix. Pretty fun, right? You can see my last post about stitch fix here.

Are you open to having someone else pick out clothes for you? Are you already doing stitch fix? I’d love to hear your thoughts

wiw – office to date night

what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By January 29, 2014 5 Comments

Today’s outfit goes from workshop to date night. It’s all relative because I wear all kinds of things, like sequins to the workshop–and sometimes I’ll wear jeans and flip flops on a date night. But in general, the workplace is more professional and date nights are for dressing up, right?

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

This dress is soooo comfortable. I found it anthropologie and it’s just plain easy to wear. The billowy top if very forgiving, and the long skirt with the shorter slip adds some fun.

For the workshop, I layered a green faux leather jacket over and nude heels. The vintage leather clutch is simple and professional.

The antique lace necklace {above} is gorgeous! You must get one. So dainty!

This clutch is a thrifted find. I love how streamlined it in.

Then for date night I switched out the faux leather jacket for a denim and the nude heels for leopard print. The clutch got traded in for red.

I opted for a memory keeper necklace–which is simply gorgeous! Find it here.

Outfit details: Black dress, Anthropologie. Green faux leather jacket, Forever 21. Nude heels, Payless. Brown clutch, Thrifted. Denim jacket, Gap. Leopard print heels, Target. Red clutch, Thrifted. Antique lace necklace, My shop. Memory keeper necklace, My shop.

Our date night last week was to hear Jerry Seinfeld do stand up and it was  SO FUN! It was something different and we laughed so hard! Have you been on a date night or had some girl time lately?

black stripes, just right.

jewelry, what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By January 22, 2014 10 Comments

I tried on this dress and I wanted to wear it out of the store. That’s a good sign, right?

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration!

I got a gift card to Anthropologie for Christmas {thanks mom!} and this dress seemed just right. Plus, I’ve worn it the last two days–so I think it may be my new favorite!

Think my bag is big enough? I have a lot of important stuff to carry! 😉

I’ll wear booties in the winter and flip flops in the summer. Perfect!

I guess it was a black stripes kind of day–because David has his sweater on, too! Love that kiddo.

Order your Victorian cursive necklace today and it will ship by Feb 28th! Ah, these are so sweet. Love!

Outfit details: Dress, Anthropologie. Booties, Sam Edelman. Bag, Target. Victorian Cursive Necklace, My shop {hurry–only available until tomorrow!}
