stitch fix! yay!

jewelry, stitch fix By April 30, 2014 1 Comment

My new stitch fix box arrived. There were some GEMS in this box! Including these boyfriend jeans and striped sweater. I love both! If you haven’t heard, stitch fix is a service, where you fill out a style profile and receive a box of 5 items {clothing/accessories} on your doorstep. You can try them on at home, keep what you like and send the rest back. I love being able to try things on with what I already have–to see if the pieces will work or not. This blog post is not sponsored but does contains affiliate links.

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration!

How cute are these jeans? I’ve worn them for the last three days! So comfy!

I’m finding myself drawn to coral lately. It’s such a sweet color–not too pink, not too red, just right.

Basic booties, basic bag and I’m ready to go.

A slouchy sweater with a collared shirt seems like a nice in-between for casual and dressy.

You’ve seen the new monogram collection, right? It’s really struck a cord! We’re doing our very best to keep them in stock. Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Today is a good day to shop for mom, and you’ll have it time for Mother’s Day! Awesome!

Outfit details: Jeans, Sweater, both Stitch Fix. Coral collared top, Target. Booties, Target. Bag, Target. Monogram necklace, My shop.

Other Stitch Fix outfits here, here and here.

Have you tried Stitch Fix? Love it, hate it? I’d like to hear your thoughts!

introducing the new ‘wildflowers necklace’ {around the workshop}

inspiration, jewelry By March 11, 2014 8 Comments

After I drop the boys at school and maybe run a quick errand, I’m at the workshop, dreaming, creating, connecting and planning. It’s bright space that’s half industrial, half inspirational. I don’t talk about it enough, but we have a fantastic team that makes things happen. They’re the ones that answer your phone calls, polish your jewelry, prepare packages to be shipping and make Lisa Leonard Designs run on a daily basis. I am humbled and grateful on a daily basis to work with this team.

Want to know something funny? I’m actually an introvert. I can be shy and sometimes I have to give myself a pep talk to jump in, get to know people and engage in larger group situations. In the workshop I can be quiet, but I’m trying to stretch myself and be more chatty and conversational.

For me, coffee is not optional. 😉

We store jewelry components in these large cabinets and I seriously love to go through the pieces, dream up different combinations and get creative.

This is where the customization happens. It’s a labor intensive process but the end result means YOU have YOUR special people close to your heart. And I love that.

Have you seen the new ‘my wildflower’s necklace? It’s about celebrating a love that grows wild and free. It speaks to my heart.

The backside of each tag is hand-stamped with your special name.

It’s surreal to have a team working behind the scenes. I remember working alone at my kitchen table in the early days-sometimes I have to pinch myself.
Today I’m down in LA with David, visiting the orthopedic hip/leg specialist at UCLA. Things continue to buzz in the workshop.

We’re thrilled to introduce the new wildflowers necklace! Don’t you love it? There will be many, probably hundreds of these created and shipping out this week. Incredible.

Which flower is your favorite?

being part of magazine {Where Women Create beauty}

blog friends, jewelry By February 8, 2014 9 Comments

Hello friends!

I am thrilled to share the new issue of ‘where women create’ with you! I’m interviewed in this issue and there are featured products from our wholesale collection and scenes from my workshop. What an honor! I love this magazine–so it’s surreal to be part of it.

Jen O’Connor of Earth Angels Studios interviewed me and wrote the article and she is one incredible lady. We met at a conference a few years ago and her energy is contagious! Since then we’ve collaborated on a few projects and become friends. I am so thankful for the inspirational women I’ve met on this journey of creating beauty in brokenness. Jen is one of those souls who you can be honest with–she’s genuine and feisty and amazing.

If you’re near a Barnes and Noble pick up a copy–there are fabulous artists and business women featured–you won’t be disappointed.

Isn’t the little birdie necklace pictured ADORABLE?! It’s only $22.50 when you use code SWEET25 for 25% off! It’s one of my faves!!

And I have some fabulous news! Jen is offering 25% off my wholesale collection this weekend. That is CRAZY! There are earrings as low as $9 and necklaces as low as $12! What?! Hop over to her shop and make sure to use code SWEET25 at checkout.

She has some gorgeous pieces that I don’t offer on my site. So go find the perfect thing for you or a dear friend. And save 25% with code SWEET25!

I share pretty openly about some of the beauties and heartache of owing our own business. Creating is amazing and vulnerable and I really open us my heart in this issue. I hope you pick up a copy!

Have a fabulous weekend and happy shopping!

hello everyday jeans, hello monday

hello monday, jewelry, stitch fix, what I'm wearing By February 3, 2014 21 Comments

***Hello Monday is where I greet the new week with an open heart and a fresh perspective. It’s a new beginning–and there’s so much to be thankful for! Join me by leaving your own hellos in the comments section or linking up a hello monday post there!***

I’ve been seeing boyfriend jeans everywhere–but when I’m shopping I can’t find any I like. Last week I came across these boyfriend jeans online and took a risk–figuring I could return them if they didn’t work. And I LOVE them. I’ve worn them at least every other day since I got them. So comfy, and easy and fun!

How about some hellos?

Hello favorite jeans! A good pair of jeans is like a security blanket, don’t you think?

Hello late start. Every Monday the boys’ school starts at 9:25am instead of 8:25am. Late start Mondays are the best invention EVER.

Hello blonder hair. I took some pics to show you later this week. {My hair is still darker in these pics!}

Hello knocking out my to do list. Instead of avoiding certain tasks I’m trying to jump in and get things done. Feels good.

[[Outfit details: Jeans, Big Star. Striped top, Stitch Fix. Chambray top {under} Anthropologie. Leopard print heels Target. Bag, Target. Bracelet, My shop.]]

Hello sweet time with friends over the week. Much needed.
Hello continuing to eat low carb and actually beginning to feel GOOD!
Hello thankful for the bit of rain we’ve had lately and praying for more.
Hello designing and dreaming and stretching my imagination.
Hello cleaning and organizing. Clears my head!
Hello February–what?!
Hello getting things together for David’s hospital stay {he goes in February 11 for tests}
Hello addicted to Downton Abbey. Do you watch it?
Hello YOU. How are you?

Hello brand new, beautiful week! Are you ready?

What are you saying hello to this week? Leave some hellos for us in the comments or link up your own hello monday post there!

black stripes, just right.

jewelry, what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By January 22, 2014 10 Comments

I tried on this dress and I wanted to wear it out of the store. That’s a good sign, right?

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration!

I got a gift card to Anthropologie for Christmas {thanks mom!} and this dress seemed just right. Plus, I’ve worn it the last two days–so I think it may be my new favorite!

Think my bag is big enough? I have a lot of important stuff to carry! 😉

I’ll wear booties in the winter and flip flops in the summer. Perfect!

I guess it was a black stripes kind of day–because David has his sweater on, too! Love that kiddo.

Order your Victorian cursive necklace today and it will ship by Feb 28th! Ah, these are so sweet. Love!

Outfit details: Dress, Anthropologie. Booties, Sam Edelman. Bag, Target. Victorian Cursive Necklace, My shop {hurry–only available until tomorrow!}

Do you/would you wear a maxi dress?

hello new gold toned pieces!

hello monday, jewelry, what i wore wednesday, what I'm wearing By January 20, 2014 10 Comments

Hello friends! Today I’m introducing three new gold toned pieces. They’re beautiful, and based on three of our best sellers. And you know what else? They are customizable! We get lots of requests for our pieces in gold so I’m thrilled to introduce these!

How about some hellos for a new week?

Hello heat wave. It’s been the strangest winter. While most of the country is freezing, we have been having weeks of record highs. It’s gorgeous out, but the truth is we need some rain desperately. We’re trying to soak up the sun but we’re also praying for rain.

Hello black skinny jeans and black boots. I like the streamlined look. So easy.

Hello gold toned family tree! Hooray! This piece is so special to me–and now it’s available in fine brass for those of you who love gold.

Hello short sleeves and eating outside. Hello sunscreen in January?!

Outfit details: Chambray top, TJ Maxx. Black skinny jeans, J Brand. Booties, Dolce Vita. Denim Jacket, Gap. Bag, Target. Gold family tree, My shop!

Hello unpacking from our trip to Legoland. We had so much fun!

Hello laundry and grocery shopping.

Hello cutting out sugar and carbs this week. Steve and I are going to focus on whole foods and try to break our sugar addiction.

Hello try to get a haircut scheduled. Fingers crossed!

Hello tidying up the bedrooms. They always seem to be last on my list. And they need some attention!

Hello walking–David is up and around and we are so happy!

Hello swim lessons and starting up community group again.

Hello friends. It’s a brand new week! Are you ready?

What are you saying hello to on this brand new Monday? Leave some hellos in the comments section or link up your own hello monday post there!
