cream and white

There was a time when I wouldn’t wear cream and white together. I wouldn’t wear black and brown together. I wouldn’t wear pants without a belt. I wouldn’t wear a bracelet and a necklace {I would pick one}. I wouldn’t really take risks. I tried to follow the rules {or at least what I thought the rules were}. Then I got bored and figured–who cares? Now I just wear what I like. If someone else doesn’t like it, that’s okay with me. It’s just clothes. It’s just fun. And I’m just me–and I’m okay with that. Most days.

This flowy kimono is from Stitch Fix. I love it! I don’t have a cream tank, but white works just fine. At least, it’s fine with me.

Outfit details: Cream kimono, Stitch fix. White tank, Target. Jeans, Target. Sandals, Miz Mooz. All jewelry, My shop.

Do you try to follow fashion rules or are you a rule breaker? Any rules you just can’t break?

  1. Personal growth, even in something as trivial as the clothes you wear, is a wonderful thing! Yeah!! Love this post.

  2. I love your style. You always look great in what you are wearing. And, khaki pants and a white t-shirt is one of my all time favorite looks… very classic.

  3. I’ve worked in many boutiques over the years. In that time I worked with a woman whose style and personality I loved. I was trying something on and asked her, “Do you think this go together?”

“If you like it then it goes together,” she said.

I have followed that fashion rule ever since.

    1. Oh, and regarding style rules– a couple years ago I decided to stop worrying about what “shapes” and styles go best with the different body types. I decided I want to wear what I like and not worry about if it’s always the *most* flattering silhouette.

      1. I love that. I know sometimes I’m not wearing the most ‘flattering’ thing–but if I feel good, that’s more important. xo
