1. i hit the vintage ornament jackpot at my favorite thrift store.
so fun!!
2. so i pulled out my trusty glue gun and
3. i picked up a foam wreath at our local craft shop. $5.
4. first i glued all the red ones around the base
and then worked in the blues, then the greens
5. matty helped me.
i kept the small ornaments until the end filled in all the little gaps.
6. it took about 50-60 ornaments. more than i expected!
and i’ve already got mine hanging in the living room.
let the christmas decorating BEGIN!

Beautiful! I’ve now officially added this to my “craft projects I want to make” list. Probably will have to wait ’til next year, but maybe I can get ornaments for it on clearance at the end of this season.
Today at work they were going to throw away a bunch of glass ornaments because they hated that they broke one or two every year. I grabbed them and just happen to have a wreath form already… my glue gun is warming up!! Thanks for the idea!!!

I have to share my bulb wreath story with you! I made one of these a couple years back and hung it above the fireplace. It was a lovely burst of color – literally! As the fire roared, the glue heated and down came the bulbs, one-by-one. It made for a smashing holiday! Lesson: This is definately a cool project.

No… I haven’t started decorating yet… it was my goal for today, but it doesn’t look like it gonna happen anytime soon (maybe later this evening, I’m hoping).
I LOVE this wreath. I have a box of old, very old (some of them were my great grandmothers) ball ornaments. This is a perfect craft for them. I hated getting rid of them, but didn’t know what to do. Repurposing them into a beautiful wreath is fantastic!

Made this wreath yesterday using boxes of antique balls that I have collected for years. Came out so beautiful! I know I will have it for many years to come. I must say though, I used Waaaaaay more ornaments then I thought It would, but so worth it! LOVE my new wreath!!!Keep the ideas coming

I am not a huge fan of Christmas (never really have been). I’ve been trying more so lately because of my kids. We plan to put our tree up tomorrow (got a great pre-lit one last year, & matching stockings). I like the wreath, it is something I can do with my son (my daughter would throw & crush the ornaments.) The ornaments look like they are glass? Do they break easily? I’d probably have to get a hot glue gun too, since I don’t own one. 🙂

I’ve always wanted to make one of these! It looks fantastic! I haven’t started decorating yet, my husband works in a restaurant all day today and tomorrow, so Sunday when he’s home we’ll start decorating together.
I haven’t begun decorating yet because we are still visiting relatives in Colorado. I plan to start next week, though, and hope to make some sort of wreath of my own!

Lovely wreath. I have all the old decorations from my parents’ tree. I couldn’t bear to let them throw them away years ago. I’ll have to find some sweet use for them. Friday (today) after Thanksgiving is usually when we decorate. But our daughter is out of town until Saturday afternoon and a football game takes priority then. So I’m thinking Saturday evening or even Sunday.
So cute! I’ve got bits and bobs all over my flat. Every year my aunt and cousin go out to pick one or two of the cheesiest Christmas ornaments they can find to send to me. I have quite the collection now 🙂

It turned out so pretty. These look like the ornaments we bought the first year we were married. However considering the fact that I became an antique for my birthday this year, I should accept the fact that my ornaments might be vintage 😉

You and Matty made a beautiful wreath! I purchased one of these at a local craft show about 6 years ago and then made one myself for a gift after that. All of the sudden every woman in my husband’s family wanted one so I ended up making like 5 in a span of a month…yikes I had lots of “glue” burns on my fingers!
I really like adding some of the vintage Shiny Brites with the white designs or words and striped ones or the indent ones. I also like to add little vintage extras like small pipe cleaner santas, etc.
