full of meaning everyday moments to make life perfect {even if it’s not!}

Hi friends! I’m linking up cell phone pics from the last couple weeks with Jeanett over at Life Rearranged! You can follow me on instagram @lisaleonard. I have found a few vintage ‘4’ signs at antique and thrift stores. They are just right for our sweet family of four!

I spruced up this wall display. It feels happy and ready for summer.

Busy, busy David. I pulled this guitar out of the closet and he loved it for a couple days. But now he’s bored with it again. I need to rotate his toys to keep things new and fresh.

Seriously gorgeous tulips at the grocery store.

Chocolate chip pancakes are a Saturday tradition around here.

David made this chick at school. The wings are traced from his hands–so that’s why one wing is smaller. I love it!

Matthias drew this picture for me. When I saw how busty I look in the drawing, I cracked up. He is so funny!

Pinwheel flower=pretty

Loving these wedges. So comfy {They’re from Dana Buchman for Kohls}

Yum, fresh blueberries.

David had a nasty cold, but on Saturday he started feeling better. So glad to see him smiling!

On Saturday we also went to see the Avengers. Matthias had been counting down for the last couple months. It was a big deal!!

I am a blessed mama!

Matthias gave me a wish. So sweet.

We went swimming with friends on Sunday. Matthias didn’t want to try to slide, but once we convinced him, he was hooked!

I have a knack for getting the wonky cart at the grocery store. Seriously–every time!

I was getting my toes painted and saw a review of Kelle’s book in People Magazine. Go Kelle!

Matthias drew this picture for me–a real departure from his super heros with bulging muscles and massive weapons.

A sandy, happy, messy David. Love.

“Hang on mom, I just need to send one more quick email before bed.”

Front tucked shirts–it’s the latest thing apparently. And super comfy.

We registered for fiestaware when we were engaged and 13 years later, I still love it!

Skittles, yikes, I have no control.

And that’s what’s going on around here. This weekend we are heading to Fresno to spend some time with Nana. What are your mother’s day plans?

  1. It’s official; I’m a little bit in love with instagram. Not just because it makes my somewhat questionable photography skills look amazing but also because I get to look at a load of other amazing pictures every single day!

  2. We registered for FiestaWare 14 years ago and I still love it too! I have feeling they will be my forever dishes!

  3. Love the fiestaware–a happy table is set at your house.

We have a delightfully low-key Mother’s Day in progress but my gang got me your bits of my heart bracelet and through my lens necklace! And word from traveling in-laws is that my mother-in-law has been showing off your family tree necklace all weekend.

    Happy Day to you!

  4. Love the Fiesta plates. I am lucky to live close to where Fiesta is made and they have an outlet. Yeah – I can get beautiful dishes and not spend a lot!

  5. I LOVE the small wing on the chick! And I noticed it in the drawing Mathias did too. So cool he notices the details! (Even the boobs!) Kid art is like heiroglyphics.

  6. I love the graphic tee’s on Matthias’ family drawing! He pays such attention to detail {heh, heh}.

I am going to read in the sunshine this weekend. Ahhh. Enjoy your trip!

  7. I always end up with the wonky cart too! And then I’m too lazy to go switch it for another one, so I just suffer through it. Seriously, what is that about?

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  8. Thank you for this great post & kickoff for the weekend. I just love that sweet little chick. It kinda made my day. And I think I might have to steal your idea and start buying some Fiesta plates.

    Happy Mother’s Day! πŸ™‚

  9. Love the chicken! and the pic Mathias drew of you family…the innocence of children πŸ˜‰

  10. Your posts always make me smile. You’re so real and transparent. You’re honest about the hard parts of life but keep a positive attitude with your grateful heart. After reading your blog, I’m encouraged to mentally list my blessings and always feel so much better.

  11. LOVE those shoes! But more importantly, I love the chick and the picture that David drew. Seriously, just sweet and honest and amazing. πŸ™‚

I’ve meant to tell you forever it seems like, but I made chocolate chip pancakes for my family after seeing yours and they’re our FAV now!! πŸ™‚
    Happy Mother’s day!!

  14. Oh I just loved looking through these photos. So great. I’ll be spending Mother’s day with my boys and hubs. We live in England so we won’t be near our Mommas, so a Skype date will have to suffice πŸ™‚

  15. This post just made me smile πŸ™‚ So many wonderful things through your week. Have a great weekend!

  16. We just recently bought a LARGE vintage sign with a 4 on it for our family too! Love yours. And I love the front tuck of the shirt. I’ve been doing it for awhile and I love that it shows a bit of belt but still hides my muffin top with the bag of the shirt!! Your belt is darling.

Have a Happy Mother’s Day. We are spending it in the hospital at Shriners for Blake’s surgery. My mother’s heart will be right where it needs to be on Sunday…with my family.

  17. Love your Fiestaware pic. We registered for it as well 11 years ago and I love picking out new pieces. I was just looking at it online last night to figure out what I would like to purchase next. Lemongrass and marigold look so bright and cheery!
