what i wore wednesday

it’s wednesday and i’m linking up with lindsey for some fashion inspiration!
this is an outfit i wore to the workshop {and then put on flip flops after i picked up the boys from school!}

jeans, joes–tj maxx. dress, gift from our english cousins {thank you mapleys!!}. sweater and wedges, target. belt, local boutique. and around my neck, loving our new family tree necklace.

today’s very important question…you’re attending a party with friends and you don’t know the attire.  would you rather show up for the gathering a little over-dressed or a little under-dressed?

  1. I am in love with that cranberry dress! The color is beautiful do you ever clear any in your closet? There are some really cute tulle dresses that I would love to purchase!

  2. Over dressed…because I have been the one that was under dressed…and I felt like I stood out like a sore thumb. Vowed never to do that again. Love the outfit…but here I would over heat in it…between the temp and my hot flashes…haha…the thought of all those layers makes me hot. You always look nice in your dress & jeans combo…I, like a couple of others who have commented…just can’t seem to pull that look off…too short I think. Love the dress with the sweater….I could do that. 🙂

  3. Hi Lisa, so happy you had a wonderful trip to the UK. I’d definitely go a little overdressed, and include my favourite faux bling rings too – I don’t go out without them! xx

  4. Hi Lisa – Love the outfit! Great question! I justed asked myself that this weekend as I showed up for a campfire cookout at a horse farm in a cowboy hat and duds. Everyone else was in t’s and jeans. Oops! You know what? I felt pretty.

  5. If the party is all friends – comfortable which is usually a little underdressed. My friends all know my style – I work with 5 year olds!
    However, if the party was with friends but not all friends over dressed – I may work with 5 year olds, but I never want to embarass my friends…

  6. Definitely Over-Dressed. During the last Christmas season I wore a nice pair of black slacks with a sweater to my husband’s work Christmas party (it was a new job for him, so this was our first Christmas party). All of the other ladies wore prom style dresses. I felt totally under-dressed and uncomfortable. I learned my lesson, always go over-dressed.

  7. I would say a lil overdressed! Just wish I had your wardrobe! I am on the lookout for some new clothes and some cute boots!! Love the fall!

  8. I’m in the slightly underdressed category. If I’m overdressed for a party I feel like I’m trying too hard.

    I will agree with everyone else about that dress through – love it!

  9. Overdressed. For sure. Love the outfit – must be chilly in Cali, though! We’re not in jeans and lovely little sweaters yet.

  10. Totally a little over-dressed, no question! Love that deep purple/pink color on you – I think it looks fantastic on you! Are those the same shoes you’ve referred to prior that said you couldn’t wait to take them off? Love the shoes, but are they worth the pain? I know…a cool looking pair of shoes and pain go hand in hand 😉
