  1. I love meeting you via video! I get the same questions cause I’m a curly girl too. I use this thick pastey stuff from a tube from sally beauty supply called noodlehead. I liked the name, so I tried it. I also use a curl spray from the john frieda frizz ease line when I need to fix it on mornings I don’t wash it, or after a windy day, etc. I also just discovered John Frieda’s secret weapon…and have started carrying that in my purse for touch ups.

    I sound high maintenance, huh?

  2. Hi Lisa- I think the video idea is very fun. Here’s a question for you- where do you find good quotes? I love the hope quote necklace you have. Where do you find things like that? Thanks!!!

  3. Haha! LOve it! And miss you so much!! My roommate uses the same herbal essence hair spray and I keep stealing it so I think I’ll go get some especially now that I know its the one u use too! 😉 Have a beautiful day! Xoxo

  4. Love this!

My hair is thick and curly and with South Mississippi humidity, you can add FRIZZY to that mix. I just cut it short and look like a fuzzy q-tip now. Ha!

  5. My daughter and I both have curly hair — hers is much curlier than mine. We always joke that she stole my curls when she was born because mine relaxed so much after I had her =) Thank you so much for your great tip! I’ll definitely have to try that instead of fighting against my curls everyday.

My question for you is how did you learn to work with sterling silver? And how did you get into jewelry making?

  6. HI! I wanted to enter the girl and glue gun contest! I LOVE your site and am so glad that I found it.

I ADORE the tiny tiny initials necklace ……

I signed up for your regular emails!

    Thank you!

  7. Fun to see a video! I don’t have curly hair but sure love yours as well. I would love to see how you style yourself when you pick out what to wear for the day (or maybe some of your top 5 fave accessories to make your outfit) I actually have enjoyed your “what I wore Wed”. I also would find it interesting in how you make your jewlery, which is quite wonderful! Thanks!

  8. Lisa, you DO realize that Herbal Essence will be sold out in all the major retailers now that you have shared your secrets. 🙂
Did you hear that our hubbies were flying buddies? At least THEY get to spend time together. Pout.
Let’s plan a coffee date. Like SOON.

  9. Ditto to everyone who said you’re super cute! Great idea! Thanks for thinking of new ways to let us into your world even more.

I’d like to know what the three guys in your life think of your jewelry. Did it take a family sarcifice in the beginning to start your business? Was your husband supportive of that?

  10. Thanks you thank you thank you….I have been ‘unblessed’ with straight hair but my 6 year old daughter has her fathers beautifuls curls. I never know what to do with it to enhance the curl and have tried so many different things without success. I will give your ‘tricks’ a go and see what results we get. I would love her to embrace what she has been blessed with instead of seeing curls as a nuisance so I thank you for answering that all important question on video. Happy day to you from the sunny south western shores of Australia x

  11. Lisa, you are such an Angel to share your life with us!!! Love the video and as always, I love your jewelry. As soon as I saw the new ‘My Treasure’ design, I had to order! My nickname is firefly and that little jar reminded me of cathching fireflies when I was a child! Can’t wait to see it in my mailbox. =)

Now…what would I like to see a video about? How about what you use to take care of your beautiful skin! (Something that is really important to me!) Much love and thanks! ~Firefly.

  12. Thank You SO Much!!!! I was tickled to pieces when I saw this video:)
I can’t wait to try these products:) Next “silly” question…..how does your stylist cut your hair?

  13. This is an easy video….I like how you tie your scarves! Can you show us how you do it/them?

    thanks!!! 🙂

  14. Lisa- I SWEAR by the herbal essences hair mousse. it’s the only thing i will use for my curly hair. works the best for us curly haired girls! so cool. glad you like it too!

  15. Love it. When I first stumbled upon your blog I asked about your hair cut b/c I LOVE IT. My last salon visit I took a pic of you in (are you scared yet?) 🙂 and my stylist thought you were adorable. I got a great cut but now I can try the products too. THANKS!

  16. Awesome! I have naturally curly hair myself and it tends to have a mind of it’s own….I’m going to try your products!

    Many Blessings,
    Melissa

  17. Love it! I have curly hair too and use products from a website that I think is called Curly Hair?! I need to find that out. 😉

I was wondering if you cook and what’s your favorite recipe. Thanks!

  18. Yay!! Good tips for moi! I first emailed you after my first necklace and visit to your blog to ask you this and you were so kind to get back to me! Love your idea for videos. Gives me ideas for videos for my own blog.

  19. Love the video answer, it’s great to hear your voice. I have a question: how do you tie your scarf!?! I love how it looks but can’t seem to replicate the knot.
    Thanks!

  20. Hi Lisa, thanks for sharing from your heart. I don’t know if this is too personal of a question, but I was wondering if you could share a bit about your son David?

    Blessings to you,

    Kelly

  21. oh, p.s. I am a photog and luv your eye for photos and editing. Just curious what camera u use 🙂 And also what programs u luv for editing.

  22. hi lisa,

i have been reading your blog *forever* but your post today was so great. i have naturally curly hair too, and do almost exactly what you do. people ask me all the time!

btw, i use garnier fructis mousse and hairspray (the curl construct kind). just in case you are ever stuck without your favorite!!

i’m hoping to order one of your necklaces for mothers day…just have to convince the hubby!!

  23. I love your blog and I feel so blessed to have found it….i say everyday that your blog is my “happy place”, and I need one with being a stay at home mom to 4 kids.
My question for you would be what is your happy place or what thought, quote, food, etc. gets you thru a rough day?

  24. i love your hair…mine is straight, always has been, but i love it to! My question (i noticed a similar one above) is about scheduling…do you have a daily plan, a to do list, how do you fit all of “life” in…

  25. wow.
    hairspray over damp moussed hair…
    whod’a thunk!

~not a silly question at all
    for those of us plagued/blessed
    with curly hair!

    your locks are gorgeous.

  26. It’s so wild that every head of curly hair is different! Mine is on the frizzy side. If I try to dry it even with a diffuser I get the frizzies. So I use lots of gel and try to make it behave! That was fun.

  27. I would love to see your studio, your jewelry “tools” and you method for creating such beautiful necklaces. I loved hearing you voice too.
Thank you, Lisa, for being so faithful to your inspirational blog. It always brightens my day.

  28. You’re so cute! Great tip I’m gonna try-putting hairspray on when hair is still wet…never tried that before! I love that you use cheap products too-gives us all hope! Ha

  29. That’s so funny, just a few weeks ago I was thinking how great it would be if you answered a question about yourself once a week! But…a video! how wonderful! Of course now I completely forgot what my brilliant question was!! 😉 I think I was curious about where/when you create most of your jewelry.

  30. It’s crazy, because just a few days ago when I was viewing your blog I thought about how weird would you think it was if I emailed you to see how you styled your hair! I am so happy that was your first video!

I have curly hair too but mine never looks as nice as yours does. Yours looks much healthier and fuller.

Love the video idea, looking forward to more 🙂

  31. Loved hearing your voice…pretty much what I thought you would sound like! Love the new question feature! My question would be….How did you get started making jewelry? Love your stuff….just ordered another necklace today!

    Patty from TX

  32. Yay!!! I think this is the only question I’ve ever asked you and I’ve been waiting forever for you to actually answer! 🙂

I am going to try a diffuser to go along with all the products I already have so I can’t rationalize replacing yet.

  33. hi… a bit ADD… but I want to know the name of the paint color of the gorgeous sky blue-ish small table behind you in the video. Please. please. share!! If you remember the name…

  34. Thanks! I too have been dying to know what you do. I have some expensive salon products that I use that I love, but I’d like to save them for when I want a “good” hair day. I’ll have to try the Herbel Essence for my every day stay at home mommy routine. Thanks!

  35. love the idea behind the videos – how wonderful to share yourself that way…my daughter and I both have very thick curly long hair – I just might have to try those products!!!

  36. So glad you answered the most important question and got it out of the way!! You know us women! Have a great day, Lisa!

  37. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I have curly hair and don’t know what to do with it. Every time I visit your site I have “hair envy” and I was dying to know how you style your hair. I’m glad it’s so easy! 🙂

  38. this is too great! i love the video AND all the comments. Curly Hair Girls Unite! also…love, love, love the new necklace…of course. 🙂

  39. I have a question! I enjoyed seeing the recent pics from your workshop/studio. Do you do most of your work and creations there or do you ever work from home? Do you have a certain spot in your home designated as your work space? Thanks 🙂

    1. I thought of a question :)…….I am having a hard time with scheduling……do you have a set schedule??? If so, what’s it look like?? I feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to fit it all in & I need HELP!

  40. YAY for vlogging in the new year! I love LisaLeonard. and I love her curls. I wish I had curls.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at Blissdom!

ps. I did my first vlog today too. I am committing to once a week too.

  41. isn’t it so fun to be a girl! this sounds like a conversation i have w/ my best friend! we both have naturally curly hair. i always love tips on products and styling. thanks, lisa!

  42. You are too cute! I also am a curly haird girl and use the same basic steps to fix my hair that you use! I think I have tried every product out there! And last week I decided to go straight ( I get on straight kicks for awhile)…takes me forever, so this morning I was in a rush, went with curly hair – even with the difuser it took me less time to fix it compared to drying it all straight and using the flatting iron. So this morning as I was drying it curly I thought to myself…”don’t fight who you are”. I am a curly haired girl. I just had a baby girl 5 months ago – and I think she is going to be a curly girl too!

  43. Love it! I have curly hair too, not as good looking as yours! For the past few months I’ve been straightening it for a change of pace. 🙂

  44. thanks, i loved it. i have a daughter with curly hair like yours and since mine is stick straight, i never quite know what i should do with her.
    blessings,
    shana

  45. Lisa,

I came across your site in my parenting magazine a few weeks ago. Since then, I’ve been reading your blogs on a daily basis. I, msyelf, love to take photos. Your photos are simply beautiful and always seem to include animals and the outdoors. My question to you is, would you ever or do you sell any of these photos online? Your images are inspiring and it would be wonderful if one could purchase them online.

  46. Wow, this helps more than you know! I too have naturally curly hair. I use herbal essence mousse as well. Instead, I use totally twisted. I’m going to have to try the other and the hairspray. I let mine air dry but I think the diffuser would be a good idea. I’m tired of my hair freezing out here in our upstate new york winters! One of these days my hair is going to just break and falls out! Thanks!
