it’s so dang good to be getting back into our routine.

i think i calculated 16 doctor visits over the last 6 weeks.

and that is just too many!

i don’t even want to think about how much school the boys have missed.  eek!

and now…deep thoughts.  tell us please…

or be able to sew the most fabulous dress?

oh, that would be wonderful!

so what would you like to be able to do??

  1. I’d love to sew the most fab dress and take the amazing photo to prove it! Then fix my great husband the best meal he’s ever eaten, in that fab dress. . How ’bout that?? I’d like to be able to do all three.

  2. Lisa, welcome home. I can’t believe what you guys have been through…. Hugs.

I think I would personally find it more satisfying to capture a gorgeous moment on camera. But then I think, wow, I’d love to share some good food with the fam! I am not into cooking (understatement), and they are severely homecooked-meal deprived.

Oh, and don’t sweat them missing school, it won’t make one bit of difference in their lives.

  3. I love to cook and people tell me I’m a good cook, I love to dabble in sewing and I love to take pictures! I’d have to say I’d like to capture that moment in a photograph – so everyone could relive it over and over!

  4. i would love to have a beautiful garden! with none of the work!! lazy me ! and to be able to cook a great meal would be wonderful if i could share it with friends..how about the meal in my garden! :^)
thank YOU for sharing all of your wonderful photos..

  5. i would love to capture the most amazing moment! there is nothing quite like a trip down memory lane…to recapture a moment that may have meant the world!
next to that, iwould say sew a dress! i bought a sewing machine, finally, with birthday money last year. i don’t know a lick about sewing, but i have the machine, now i need to learn and sew that dress! one of these days, it will happen!
so glad life is feeling back to normal for you and that all appears to be well! praise the Lord!

  6. I would say capture amazing moments…everything else can be recreated but amazing moments only happen once. The only way to truly revisit that moment is in our minds our through a photograph. Time will not alter the other aspects of live…the cooking…the sewing…but moments do not stop time and we have to catch them while they are there.

  7. I want to able to do ALL those things reasonably well, and just get better at them with time. Sometimes I do a very good job, sometimes only pass-able…ah, well…I do like to try new things so I am always learning!

  8. Thankfully, and I don’t take this for granted, my husband can make amazing meals. I would definitely love to capture better pictures, but my main interest is writing, so I have to say, I would love to be able to write the most heartbreakingly, beautiful memoir you’ve ever read.

  9. I’m going to interpret your question this way: “What do I really wish I could do…” and I choose to keep my horizons wide: I REALLY wish I could think faster! Inevitably, after a couple of days of pondering, I come up with a really wise or pithy comment about a topic of conversation. By then, the moment has passed, and I’m left with the dumb impression I made back in the heat of the moment! Ah well – no time constraints in Heaven, right? My day will come….

  10. Such a hard pick!! My initial reaction was to be able to really capture those amazing moments on camera, but then again I usually just love being in the moment rather than clicking away…if only there was a way to do both! So, if not that, then making delicious food but WITH other people because I so like memories better when they include others. To be able to sew would be fun, but I get bored and want to be moving and doing more. But, really, I’d take any of them! 🙂

  11. Capture the most amazing moment with my camera. Although, everyone around me may faint from shock if I cooked the most perfect meal. That may just be worth watching.

  12. I think my problem in all of these areas is that I’m a perfectionist and I’m scared to let myself go. I am scared that my creativity is not going to be enough to impress people. And there in lies my problem…I want to impress people SO badly! I should just get the pleasure out of knowing that I’m think I created a scrumptious meal, a wonderful picture or an inspiring piece of writing. Instead, I wonder what other people think of it and if they see any value in it. Why do I see myself as valueless unless other people acknowledge me? Hmm…this is something God’s working on in me through my blogging and cooking.

I would love to become a better photographer, writer and cook though! 🙂

  13. pictures all the way!!! You know when you have that moment when you look at the review and see it and you are like “OH, I can’t believe I got that!!!!” I love moments like that. I love pictures becuase they capture moments that I want to remember FOREVER.
    BIG HUGS!!

  14. I’d love to learn to sew, make a great pie crust from scratch, and can vegetables from my own garden. Oh, and I’d love to learn to downhill ski!

  15. My new-found passion is photography–so of your three choices, I would choose that. I would love to eat the meal somebody else chose to make….and I would love to be able to sing. Not just in the shower, but anywhere, and not feel self-conscious about it!

  16. ummm…the honest answer is to be an ordinary family…to be able to go on a holiday, not worry about every cough and sneeze and just be able to lug my handbag around, not jacobs big ugly emergrncy bag…wow…too honest, now i feel guilty and teary…oh well…take care

    xxx

  17. I want to be hapyy with whatever happens! I think capturing a photographic moment is wonderful since it is timeless and with food you eat it and it’s gone…the best part of a great meal is the company sitting around the table to enjoy it….life is defined by moments…live each one! hugs

  18. i think i would rather go to panera and have a nice lunch and hazelnut coffee with my best friend and talk about where we’re going to go when we turn forty (in a year and a half!). that’s what i love to do.

  19. I love to cook and I love to sew but I think I’d like to catch the most amazing moment on camera. I have photos that are just priceless and I can’t say that about anything I’ve sewn or meal I’ve made.

  20. Photograhpy!!!!! I have four grandsons that all play sports (football, basketball, baseball, track) and whould love to be able to take good action pictures. The camera I have right now does not do a very good job!!!!

  21. Well, I would like to do any of those! But I’d really love to be able to belt out in song with am amazing voice since my voice is only belt it out worthy of in the car all by myself!

  22. I am so glad things are starting to go back to normal for you and your family!

For me…photography! I love to cook already and I know I can pretty much tackle anything food-wise…but to have that perfect moment captured would be priceless. It could even be a photo of the best meal I ever made! I really want to capture the perfect photo of my boyfriend…something that just shouts out that this is him.

  23. I would love to take a picture during worship time & capture the unseen. I know there are wonderful things going on in the physical realm, but just think what goes on in the spiritual!! It must be glorious!

  24. for certain my answer is capture the best moment on my camera. It brings so much joy to me to see the precious smiles of the children I photograph and the joy it brings to the parents with the everlasting memory of a wonderful crooked smile or infectious giggle.

  25. I can do none of them. I hate to cook, I take probably 5 pictures a year, and once I made an indian costume but it looked more like a homeless person. I would chose to LOVE to do all 3 things. I don’t want to make the perfect meal but still hate to cook, or make the perfect outfit and still hate to sew. Still looking for the thing I LoVe to do.

  26. “i wish i could crash like the waves, or turn like the autumn leaves in effort to praise You. i wish i could smell like the summer rain, and every drop would sing your name in effort to praise You…. i wish i could roar like the thunder to leave the earth below in wonder, in effort to praise You, but i’m such a limited creature….”
    lyrics by Watermark.

i’d want to sing a song and with it, “open my mouth and let the Lord out” (as ann lamotte says).

i will let him out in my small corner of the world.

  27. Cooking and sewing I do pretty well already. I would love to be able to capture the special moments consistently. Then I would love to be able to paint those special moments.

  28. Right on Denise C! I love to run and I can’t remember the last time our streets would allow me to do so. Ok…so the question Lisa ask. I love to cook and feel fairly confident that I’m doing ok with that, no complaints from my family. I can kind of sew and if I had the time could probably get pretty good with that too! But I want so much to be able to take great photos. To capture special moments would be awesome.

  29. All I want to do is go out running. Since we had two massive back-to-back snow storms I have not been able to get out. My neighborhood road is a sheet of ice because temps have been so cold.
We need some sunshine to melt the ice and snow!

  30. Hmmm… really not sure. I do a lot of things kind of well. I’m a dabbler. Right now though, I have been working on the photography thing…
    A terrific happy list!

  31. Glad you are getting back in the swing of things! Routines are good!

Photography is such a great outlet for my artistic side! Sometimes I don’t have the time to paint, but I can always grab my camera and snap a few pics!

  32. you are tough. My two passions in life are making pretty pictures and cooking yummy food! (sewing in another life when I learn how!). I would have to say making a beautiful photograph (while being nourished with great food!)

  33. Well, cooking yummy food does bring satisfaction, and I would really love to be able to sew(I keep trying, but it’s not happening), but being able to capture the perfect shot, thanks to the digital age, it can/will last forever(as long as you back it up, that is! ;))., so I’d definitely like to take the best photos ever! 🙂

  34. I think the camera at the moment. I love food too, but the good memory can last a lifetime 🙂

I think we are in for an insane amount of appointments too. I hope your streak of appointments is over for now!

  35. I would love to be able to freeze time with my girls and go back to it whenever I want, like a live video so to speak. There are just some moments that slip by too fast. I would like to be able to go back and visit those times whenever I want.

  36. I would love to be a better photographer. Photographs are so inspiring. I am so glad life is getting back into routine. When things get chaotic for awhile routine is such a welcoming presence. have a great Wednesday Lisa!

  37. it is so nice to hear you are getting back to a more calmer and serene routine. i am sure David is feeling just the same. my heart goes out to you both and family.

i would have to say capturing the best photo would be something i rather do and then maybe create the perfect dress. i do lotsa cooking, so it would be nice to get into something new. dandelions are a special sentiment of mine…i love the photos of them in your post.

    ox

  38. To capture the most amazing moment on camera so I can look back on it from years to come. 🙂

Loving your new necklace design. Happy Wednesday!!

  39. I would love to be able to capture the most amazing moment on camera. All of the random photo’s I have all over our home take my breath away every time I see them and remember the exact moment I took them. But I would like to make a mouth watering- meal and take a picture of it 🙂 .
Thanks for your post! They are all wonderful.

  40. That’s a hard question since I love to do all three! So my answer would be to cook the most perfect meal then photograph it for my blog wearing my amazing, sewn by me dress! Who says you can’t be good at everything? A girl can dream!

  41. Honestly, I would love to be a better photographer, for sure. But, if could capture the most amazing moments in writing, in beautiful prose… wow, that would be wonderful! I have no idea how writers come up with the most amazing and delicious descriptions of things that would otherwise be staid and boring.

I’m no cook – that’s for sure. But, I don’t really have a huge desire to be an excellent cook… so there ya go!

  42. Since I do not enjoy cooking, sewing is my weak point and I am a photographer…I think I would love to be able to paint…or draw…or play the piano. I’ve always wanted to walk up and be able to sit at a keyboard and just bring forth beautiful music.

  43. Well…. I already sew my daughter some pretty cute clothes, my husband says I’m a fantastic cook, he’s tained 20 pounds in our 10 years of marriage (ha!)…. but…. unlike you Lisa… I am unable to capture those “special moments” on camera. My 18 month old daughter is dancing to “Dora” or kissing the puppy or doing something adorable I’d like to remember forever…… but….. never can I be quick enough! DARN! I guess the answer is some very expensive high speed camera tied around my neck at all times right? You do fantastic at capturing your darling children’s special moments. I need advice!
