Mother’s day quick photo shoot {i am so blessed!}

i was so inspired by this save the date shoot from style me pretty. so on mother’s day i asked the family if we could do a quick photo shoot. it was super fun and easy and i love the way the pics came out!

our friend, eli, found this huge old chalkboard and when he went to college it came to live with us. and we love it!

we have a loft area upstairs and a huge blank wall–so that’s where we hung the chalkboard.

i absolutely love that picture of matthias. so HIM! and i love his superhero drawing too. that’s pretty much what he does right now, draw superheros.

i see david peeking from behind the couch!

each person was supposed to draw their super self {matthias said so!} so that’s super dad and super mom.

matthias’ face in that pic above kills me! love it.

thanks family, for indulging me in a quick shoot. i am so blessed!

  1. Lisa, Steve, Matty and precious David,

    Decided to check you out tonight and look what I found!
    A family photo shoot. How sweet the memories I have of you sharing your home and family with us a few weeks ago. You taught me a great deal Lisa while I was there. Thank you will never be enough. Matty you are a real honest to goodness character and I fell in love with you!’
    David found my soul and I will never be the same. Your family is a blessing…Thank you!

  2. I LOVE chalkboards! I have one in my office, dining room, hallway & bathroom. I’m a little obsessed… 😉

  3. Hi Lisa honey, gorgeous! photos – I especially love the last one! Pretty dress by the way!
    I love chalkboards and always have. Hmmm you’ve given me an idea for my studio. I think I’ll paint a section of the wall with chalkboard paint. I’m painting the studio a sort of warm aqua/duck egg blue and I will do a rough patch with black chalkboard too. Of course at the moment I am looking at the plain wall lining with cracks where the plaster isn’t! It’s been this way since it was built because I couldn’t wait to start creating in it! LOLOL Hugs

  4. So very sweet. I saw David and Steve at Barnes and Noble Sunday. They are even cuter in person! Beautiful family you have. David was so funny when I said hey I know you. He just smiled very big.

  5. i love those huge chalkboards, i just saw one that size a my local thrift store. now i wish i would have gotten it!! i have a huge whiteboard in the homeschool room, but there’s just something magical about a chalkboard, it brings back memories of when i was a kid!! great photo shoot!

  6. yes, blessed indeed. what a lovely family you have. thank you for sharing your photo shoot – and what fun to have such a big chalkboard. I’ve been tempted to paint a wall in the playroom with the chalkboard type paint – just haven’t gotten the gumption to get “get it done”.

  7. I LOVE the last two photos! His face is priceless! The first picture is perfect! What a beautiful family you have 🙂
