tour of california.

the tour of california came into san luis obispo on thursday, so we met steve downtown to greet the riders. it was very wet and cold.
the kids went from deliriously happy to seriously grumpy in the span of an hour and a half. we headed home early and didn’t get to see the riders finish their race. oh well!
then yesterday we drove over to solvang to see the time trials. here are chris horner (foreground) and levi leipheimer (background) warming up. we were standing about a foot away from them–so cool.
when chris horner was done warming up he handed his hat to our little david!! what a thoughtful gesture. we were so touched, and david was honored, too.
on the menu yesterday…hot dogs, soda, huge cookies–you get the idea.we had so much fun!

  1. I went to the tour of california-san luis stop a couple years ago, it seriously so much fun! I loved it!
I need to get back on my bike, it’s great exercise!

  2. love the smile on David’s face with the hat! now i’m a horner fan for sure! speaks volumes! enjoy the moments/days, the years do go quickly! our first 7 years flew by!

  3. What an honour for David to receive the hat! It looked like a fun day, despite the weather.

I kinda chuckled about you saying it was cold. I guess it’s relative. This morning it’s -10 celcius here in Toronto. And that’s not even really cold (a wind chill of -20 celcius would feel awfully cold). 🙂 But then again, it’s pretty warm here compared to Yukon or Alaska! lol

  4. very fun! when they cam through town i kept wanting to call it the “tour de california” ala lisa last year!

  5. My husband is jealous, he has been keeping tabs on the race from here in Utah. How cool about the hat as well. Very kind gesture.

  6. I take the photos on an angle. I edit using iphoto and picnic. i’m not a trained photographer–i just take a lot of photos and have fun editing! good luck!!

  7. Sweet of Chris giving his hat to David!

My husband used to read lots about cyclists. Right now, he is behind the news…

His question about Chris Horner: Is he involved in semi-pro or in a professional cyclist? Which company sponsor for Chris Horner?

  8. I know you have explained it before but was wondering if you could do it again. Can you explain how you have your pictures on a tilt? They are awesome…I know you use picnik..right?

  9. Your photos are always so amazing…is it the camera, the editing, or does a person have to be trained for that?

I come over just to see the photos of your little guys. And, to covet some jewelery I hope to afford one day!:) thanks for always giving me so much eye candy.
