ready, set…

bloom

i see both of my boys blooming right before me.  not only physically (we’ve been buying lots of longer jeans lately!) but also develpmentally.  david is gaining independence every day and refuses to hold hands while walking on wood chips or grass.  he’s got a sparkle in his eye and intention in his steps.  matty’s coloring and fine motor skills seem to grow daily and i noticed today he is holding his pen correctly.  he speaks with clarity and expresses complex thoughts.  they are aren’t so little anymore.  their legs dangle off my lap when we snuggle.  i miss those baby days but watching them bloom makes my heart full.

  1. Let me know when you feel the need to snuggle a little one…I’ll drop my kids off. They have both been demanding snuggles constantly lately…I feel like I need about 3 of me…one to snuggle…one to take care of the house…and one to work….ok maybe 4…one to play would be nice too :). miss you

  2. I always say…enjoy it while you can because, as you are seeing, they grow up so fast. With both girls out of the house, it’s nice to be living near one and to be able to travel and visit the other one and enjoy time with them as adults now. But I, too, miss their “little” days when we went to the park, when Danielle and I went to Weinerschnitzel (we still go, so at least that little tradition still holds…and she hates meat now, but W she’ll eat). I miss reading to them and having them sit on my lap, too. And, yes, your pictures are always so beautiful.

  3. I had to laugh at todays comment ” their legs dangle off my lap”, I just had this happen over the wknd. I finally “noticed” my 5 year princess is getting so big. She is growing to quickly and before I know it will be a teenager….. YIKES! 🙂 And my newly minted 1year (May 12th) seems to be catching up to his sister rather quickly. I need to remind myself to stop and take it all in. Beautiful pics again today!
