warming up to new dogs {hello pug love}

Hello friends! Last week we got home from Boston, and the next morning went and picked up two pugs who are joining our family. We were connected with these two sweet dogs through the Central Coast Pug Rescue. Louis is 3 years old and Beasley is 5 years old. They couldn’t be sweeter! It’s been a fairly easy transition and we are loving having them around. It’s a big change for our family. We’ve been talking about this for a long time–and we finally made the leap!

How about some hellos for a brand new week?IMG_1569

Hello cuddles. These dogs want to cuddle all day, every day. And we’re not available, they cuddle each other. Adorable.

  1. Thank you for adopting these 2 beautiful pugs.
    Not sure, how you and I got introduced, but I think a friend copied the pic of your2 pugs, with the hats, to my page. I am a huge pug lover and our special needs pug, Frank, wore hats of all sorts. We adopt d him 3 years ago and was paralyzed from a genetic defect. He lived and loved with our family for 28 months. He had a wheelchair and we visited disabled children. His big love made everyone happy.
    I just ordered a beautiful necklace from you.
    And I am so loving reading your blog. I lost 3 children due to genetic abnormalities. That was 25 years ago but I find peace in your writings.
    We just adopted a beautiful 7 year old pug, named Faith. She was starved and tortured in an Arkansas Puppymill. She has no eyes. We are learning to explore and appreciate life through our hearts.
    Peace.

  2. From a former animal shelter worker, thank you SO much for adopting rescue dogs, instead of going to a breeder. So many animals’ lives are on the line, and you just saved two!!! Bless your heart!

  3. They are the cutest ever. We love pugs and had two until they died of old age a few years back. Just now considering getting another one. Just a head’s up, both of your pugs need their nails trimmed. And …. most all pugs hate it. It took the two of us to trim their nails. Your vet will do it too.
    The one pug has what looks like dirt built up on his little nose. We had one who got that too. It would slowly over time crust on to his nose. I just took a terry cloth wash cloth and rubbed it back and forth over the nose where that crust is and it would come off. Also pugs need to have their nose roles cleaned out every few days. You can use baby wipes for that. I am sure your family will love these little guys, because they just love everyone.

  4. ‘Yay!’ for your new puppy boys!!!! Our family talked about getting a dog for 5 years!! OK … our son was attempting to convince us that whole time (Powerpoint presentations, contracts, pros and cons … :-)) … and we finally took the plunge in November 2013 with a 3 month old Yorkie. BEST decision ever … I absolutely, positively can’t even fathom life without him, and consider him one of my children!! 😉 Enjoy your new additions to the family.

  5. Oh I love all the pictures of the doggies! Thanks for the hint (Beasley black, Louie light) that really helps. I couldn’t remember which was which.
