  1. Well…….I know I’m late reading this post, but my word is Joy. I’m hoping to find some.

I just love your pictures. I’m especially in love with your bird pillow. Please tell me where I might find one.

I’m saying hello very loudly to springtime in the hopes it will hear me and get here quickly. God knew what he was doing when he made me a southern girl – I couldn’t handle any colder than what we get down here in South Louisiana.

  2. Lisa, this sounds so terrible but for me there is power (and a chuckle) in this word. My word of the year is;
    “Whateva”
    I’m just so deep, huh?

  3. Lisa-

First of all I have to say that I love popping on here to look at all your fun & fantastic ideas-espc. your adorable outfits you throw together! I must admit that I copied one & got tons of compliments-gotta love Target & Anthro they make a great couple!

Secondly, my most terrific husband got me 2 necklaces from you for Christmas & it made my day. Well other than being with my family that is. What else is better than being able to wear a necklace with the love of your lives on it & then by surprise he picked out the cute owl necklace & put “I’d choose you again” on it-melt my heart! I now have 4 girlfriends who requested your website-yeah!

Finally, I LOVE the pillows on your couch-where are they from or should I say where did you get the material from? They are yummy! Oh, yeah & by the way your mantel-so adorable. I was just finishing all the Christmas tear down & was wondering what to do with it & of course you came to the rescue!

Have a blessed & beautiful day!
    Nicki

  4. Hi Lisa,
    My word for this year is, “Hope.” Hope for the plans God has for me. {Jer. 29:11}

I also have a question if that’s okay… I love the pillow fabric in your picture. The one with the birds on it. Where did you find it if you don’t mind me asking.

    Have a great day!
    Cole

  5. My word for 2011 is ” theWord(s) “. Allow me to explain. It is to remind me that The Word creates words. It is to remind me that I was created by The Word with words. It is to remind me that my words can either build up or cut down. Lots to journal and ponder on this….

  6. My word for this year is blessed. I, like so many other wives and mothers, so often feel bogged down by all the “stuff” in life. When work, dinner, my husband, my children, their homework, etc. start to take their toll on me, I want to remember how BLESSED I am. Blessed to have a job, blessed to have a family to make dinner for, blessed to have a husband who loves me, blessed to have 2 wonderful children, blessed that I have children who need my help with homework, . . . the list could truly go on and on. God has so blessed me in so many ways!

  7. I would love to pick the word BALANCE. But I think that I really need to first pick the word CALM. My husband teaches my boys β€œto be calm in every situation”. It is a lesson that I know I have a problem with! It is something that I need to work on before I can achieve anything else. Maybe next year I can work on BALANCE.

  8. My word: Grace. Grace for handling any circumstance that hits me. Grace for the blessings I’ve been given. Grace that God has blessed our family with the desire to adopt a little special needs princess. My word for 2011: Grace.

I’m sayin’ HELLO to the possibility of a snow day tomorrow!!

  9. Saying hello to my mattys birthday celebrations for Sunday. Can’t believe he is turning four. Now…how to make a robot cake. Love the tree photo and can’t wait to see the new necklace. Got one for Christmas, have two one the way, best not like the new one too much.

  10. Wow, Lisa!

Wouldn’t “IMPERFECT” be a great word for the year and a necklace!!! You said it best!!!

(I already submitted PRAYER as my word).

Love the glitter heart, so fun!!!

  11. I am not sure if you wanted us to enter our word here on this post too, so here is mine. πŸ™‚

Grace: A gift you don’t deserve. This is partly why our daughter’s middle name is Grace.

  12. My 2011 word is LIGHT. I’ve been walking in shadows for too long. I’m ready to “walk in the light as He is the light.”

  13. My word is hopeful. I want to be full of hope..no matter what happens….because it’s so much better than the alternative!

  14. My word for this year is “grace”… as in God’s grace that I am so thankful to have and will work to give in all aspects of my life.

  15. Hi Lisa, I am a new follower for about 2 weeks. I found you from Ali Edwards’ blog, and so glad I did. I am hoping to order a bracelet for my mom soon with all her grandkids names, maybe the daisy chain one. Anyway, my word is rediscover. I am hoping to find myself again. Thank you so much for the giveaway, and Happy Birthday to your son!

  16. I’ve been thinking about this a lot. My word is ‘surrender’. I tend to try and always be in control of everything. I need to surrender. Mainly to God. But also to my feelings, my forgiveness (for myself and others), interuptions, changes in schedules, etc. Just let go a little.

  17. My word of the year is “Remember”

My dad passed away from Cancer in October last year & even though he is gone, I make sure I remember a happy memory of him every single day. Miss him =[

Love your blog/site btw, very beautiful things on here, I could buy them ALL. Going to share your link on Twitter [@AnellaBennett] & have also followed you =]

  18. My word for 2011 is ‘be still’. I have no idea what it means and that is why I chose it! I feel like my life quickly passes by each day and I do not enjoy it as it should be. So…’be still’. I am looking for the definition, the value and the beautiful practice of ‘be still’ this year..

  19. Hello and Happy Monday to you too! What a blessing to read about you on Angie Smith’s website and know that I, too, get to count you as a friend. (Now I’m sounding starstruck – but you know what I mean.) And you are such a treasure in being there for them and relating to those who have hurt. (Which is all of us, it’s true.)God must have had so much fun creating wonderful, talented, compassionate, caring, funny, beautiful YOU!

  20. uncynical–

I would love to be more intentional to pray and fight for hopefulness–rather than taking the easy (cynical) path

  21. My word for 2011 is hope. And I’m looking forward to the year… noticing more hope around me and focusing on hope instead of the negatives.

  22. Hello busy fun week ahead. Hi Lisa! I love your blog and am an avid reader….can’t tell you how many scarves I bought since you started doing www!!! My word is “believe”. I’m so glad I didn’t miss this….we had such a crazy weekend. Have a happy week ahead! Jenn

  23. My word for 2011 is simplicity. Everyday I try to focus on the simple things in my life that matter the most to me. Whether it is a bird perched on tree, or the fresh fallen snow, these are the moments that I seize. But what I truly look forward to, is a smile from my daughter or a gentle kiss from my husband. These are the things in my life that keep me balanced. It is the things that cost nothing that mean the most to me.

  24. I thought and looked up some words but GRACE kept coming back to me. First of all because I feel like I’ve been at my wits ends with every little thing lately and need to act more graceful with things. Grace has so many meanings and they all “speak” to me right now. I like one meaning I saw other than “the grace of God” and to “say a prayer”, I like “to adorn, to decorate, to embellish and dignify.”
Thank you for the inspiration to think of a good word for the year. I’m going to remember and meditate on GRACE.

  25. oh man- i kind of can’t stand this one word challenge! πŸ™‚ i’ve thought of several, and not sure how i could choose one. we’ve recently been blessed with our third little boy- so my word could be- “blessed” or “savor” or “rest” or “thankful” or “love.” — words that both describe and remind (to do all these things while my little guys are still little!)

  26. Love your designs! My word for 2011 is “aspire”. This past year has taught me that life, love and family are gifts and so this year, with gratitude, I aspire to be so much more for myself and for my family. To reach beyond what I think I am capable of.

  27. My word of the year must be love but closely followed by mercy and simplicity. we have gone through some tuff things this past year with the ones we love. through God is showing me the importance of love and mercy.

I’m hopeing to say hello to motivation and not giving up today!
Love your blog and jewelry. are you on etsy?

  28. Hi Lisa,
I am saying hello to beautifying my house! I am in a purge and paint mood this month and have lots of projects on the go!
My word for this year is delight…as in to find joy and delight in the everyday details of my life…I also want to cause others to feel delight by being a better, more giving person.

  29. hmmmm, there are a whole bunch of words I could use. But I think that for this year my word is “Be” – sometimes I need to remember to just be, to stop and be in the moment, to be me and only me, not someone else’s idea of who or what I am, even if that someone else is my own high expectation of me. Just Be…

  30. I like GRACE. I need to learn to be more graceful and let things slide.

I also have to return to PEACE, especially after the school shooting last week and the congress woman’s shooting over the weekend (let’s not even mention WAR).

We need PEACE and GRACE in our lives now more than ever.

  31. I’ve been in the background looking at your blog for several months now. I LOVE to see your inspired looks on each Wednesday.

Anyway, my word would have to be “Salvation” that would be a great reminder to me that simple little upsets during the day really in the long run mean nothing and that this life on Earth is temporary.

  32. My word for 2011 is “Thankful”. Sometimes during life’s bad times (when I am grouchy, feel taken advantage of, or just sad)I am going to try very hard to remember that I am so lucky to be where I am today and need to be thankful for all of the good things in my life.

  33. Happy Monday to you….looking forward to seeing that lil heart project!
My word for the year is trust….this silly heart of mine loves to become anxious very quickly. I could use a reminder to trust in the Lord and not lean on my week self πŸ™‚

  34. My word for this year would be kindness – it can be so hard to be kind and my children are so much better at being kind than I am – so I am inspired by them. There’s a little snow falling here in WI – the nice white fluffy kind! Fiona

  35. I am so glad to get on today Lisa! My word for 2011 is “Enough” because I want to move toward understanding that doing my best as a mum, a wife, a business owner and a woman is Enough. That the one little word is a powerful reminder that we are all doing the best we can with the tools we have right now and that we all strive to be comfortable in our own skin, to be Enough. Everyone we meet is enough when we can meet them where we are.
I cannot wait to see the new necklace tomorrow. xo

  36. Today my kids are back in school after their winter break, and this week I’m looking forward to a little time to myself (however brief!) to reflect, refuel and create.

I love your pillows! If possible, could you share where you got them? Love your tree photo, too. Looking forward to seeing your new necklace tomorrow!

  37. My word for the year is persistence. Never give up, even when things get tough or scary. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.

  38. my word is ‘enough’..to remind myself that i have more than….and to also remind myself when to be quiet!(like, Julie, that’s enough!) a word with a double meaning! thanks for this ‘word challenge!’ my daughters and I have taken it on and it has been wonderful for us! πŸ™‚

  39. Hello Snow! It’s snowing in north Texas and we have a snow day today πŸ™‚

I like your word–GRACE. We could all use it. I’m also all about accepting the imperfect. You know I even used it in the title of my blog. Even though we are imperfect I like these verses that remind me there’s hope for us.

Philippians 1:6 “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

  40. Good Morning Lisa! I am saying hello to all my lovely blog ladies this morning, catching up on everyone’s inspiration over the weekend. Hello to my second cup of coffee in my favorite red mug. Hello to the kids back in school after a weekend of sleepovers, football, and war with nerf guns.

If this didn’t go through yesterday, my word for 2011 is Breathe. I just recently blogged about it on my site (www.allenclan5.blogspot.com) Life should be about breathing in all the little details around us. enjoying each moment of good and bad. really feeling it all.

Enjoy your Monday. Happy Birthday to your little man!

  41. it seems simple, but my word is love…
    love God more
    love my husband more
    love my children more
    love people more
is there anything greater? no…no, there’s not.

  42. Laugh!

I’ve had a rough couple of years recently with many surprise heartbreaks and am ready to get back to really enjoying life this year! I’ve learned a new saying that helps to remind me that current circumstances are not permanent and life is what I make of it:

“Take your time, don’t live too fast. Troubles come & they will pass”!

  43. Saying hello to a day of feeling healthy after a weekend of illness. And definitely saying hello to my first early morning in..too long. Up before my little ones. Enough time for a cup of tea alone. The beginning of many I hope…inspired by my word: ritual. I hope I get to say hello to this ritual of early morning peace often!

  44. My word is “breathe” because when I step back and remember to do just that, everything seems to be calmer and better. Thanks for the inspiration!

  45. My word for the year is “cherish” – my 2 little boys are growing up so quickly…I’m reminded daily to cherish every moment w/ them.

  46. I woke up to a SNOW Day. Here in South Carolina we are experiencing a major snow-turning-to-sleet-later-today.

The word I think I will be ordering in imperfection. I would like to be grace or peace; but God and I know that I am still a work in progress, still imperfect.

Thanks Lisa, for sharing your gifts with us.

  47. Very excited to see the new creation tomorrow! I am saying hello to a chilly morning with snow this week. I am saying hello to transforming my home into winter/Valentine’s Day decor showing lots of love with photos, hearts and red!

  48. Saying hello to a new day made by the Lord! Hello to a warm cup of peppermint tea. Hello to my Savior!

My word is God this year. That he would be in all and through all I think, say and do.

  49. PEACE – I will pray for peace in my own heart as well as those around me and peace in the world. Please Lord make me an instrument for peace.

  50. i’m saying hello to coffee in my favorite mug, 8 inches of snow!, and spending the day snuggling with my hubby and pets instead of going to class and work! :] happy birthday matty!

  51. I’m not so sure how “obey,” my word for 2011 will look on your lovely necklace, but I thought I might give it a try!!
