tidepools {cambria}

while on our camping trip we spent an afternoon at the tidepools in cambria. we went at low tide so we could see as many creatures as possible. it was so magical watching the kids climb and explore and see nature!

mr. crabby crab did not want to be disturbed. doesn’t he look grumpy?

have you explored nature lately?

  1. Hi…..I just found you in In Style, and I ordered a bracelet. I love your things. I also love the ocean. Seeing your pics, gets me excited for our yearly trip to Mendocino. We have been going for over 22 years, and my kids are 32 and 29!! They still love to go, and it warms my heart to have my family all together.

  2. I explored kayaking in Puget Sound with my husband’s cousin’s wife (whew!) on the 4th of July. We escaped the hub-bub of the reunion of my husband’s entire extended family for some quiet time with some moon jellies. It was lovely.
I sooo wish I knew someone who would loan me their cute trailer, too! My husband is going batty with all of my, “If we had a camp trailer…” comments lately. He wants to get a new tent. Uh, no thanks!
So glad you all had a blast!!

  3. I have never looked around in a tide pool…I need to do that sometime. I went with a friend to watch sea turtles coming onshore to lay eggs recently. It was amazing.

  4. The best part of all of these pictures was the last one, with David’s hand on your husband’s face. I love it! So precious.

  5. Looks wonderful!

We’ve been trying to spend every possible moment outside this summer — soaking up all of this sunshine and fresh air!

  6. What a fun outing!! Many a day when we lived in MD, we explored with the kids. We’re very landlocked these days and though the prairies are lovely, we still miss the water.

  7. Yes my husband and I went on a hike to sunset rock-it was great to see the smoking mountains! My husband doesn’t normally like to hike on hot summer days we left early in the morning-it was beautiful!

  8. actually — yes! zack and i found a trail near our house that has a creek running alongside. everyone was outside walking, running, kayaking. bauer loves it here!

minneapolis is seriously an amazing city — there’s so much nature woven through the city! it’s fun :]

  9. We went and checked out a HUGE field of sunflowers last week! And, I’m enjoying see you all in long sleeves (as it’s like 100 degrees here!)

  10. Cambria is a town we ALWAYS have to hit up when we go out to CA! Great pictures. Lynn’s is always a must when we visit! I just love the pie!!!!! 🙂

I was out watering the yard and saw a bird pull a worm right out of the ground! I thought that was pretty cool to see…..it looked like something right out of a cartoon.

  11. hello lisa!

such lovely photos of a wonderful day! children and tide pools are a natural fit i think, the boys look engrossed (and so very cute!).
