happy halloween!

Happy Halloween, friends! Tonight we’ll be trick or treating around our neighborhood and having pizza with friends. I looked back on the last few Halloween’s and these pictures brought back so many memories!

Last year we were in England with cousins and we had so much fun!

We visited Mead Farm where we went on a haunted tractor ride, carved pumpkins and ate candy.

We’re missing our english cousins terribly, but the good news is they’re coming to California for Christmas. We can’t wait!

Two years ago we trick or treated with friends around a nearby neighborhood.

Matthias was a knight. He changed his costume last minute–and that’s what he ended up with. David was Ben 10–which was chosen for him by Matthias, who loved Ben 10 at the time.

Three years ago {2010} David was released from the hospital on Halloween. He’d had open heart surgery to repair two large holes in his heart and a valve. The day after surgery, his lung collapsed and it was such a scary, stressful time.

The boys actually dressed up at the hospital and the staff passed out candy. Matthias was dressed as a jedi and David was Yoda.

I do not miss that IV pole. Trick or treating is much easier without it! But I am so thankful that the heart surgery was a success. David is much stronger and has been growing since the surgery.

This year I’ve got a cowboy and a magician. I’ll snap a few pics and share our adventures soon. I’m off to eat too much candy.

What are your plans for Halloween?
