what i wore wednesday

it’s wednesday and i’m linking up with lindsey over at the pleated poppy!
this is what i wore to church on sunday–super comfortable and a little different from what i usually wear. olive tee-thrifted. wrap skirt-outdoor indian market in santa barbara. boots-anthropologie. wooden bangles-vintage.

david wanted to get in on the action too. on david, button up and jeans-both old navy.

this fall i am on the lookout for a cute fitted blazer–either velvet or tweed and maybe floral cardigan. right now i’m really into mixing florals with polka dots or stripes.

if you had $200 to spend on something for the fall–what would you buy?

  1. BOOTS!! I would love a new pair of boots in a brown leather – either riding or cowboy. Something that I can throw on with a skirt or tuck jeans into!

  2. would like a couple of fresh, new sweaters – all of mine feel frumpy.

I’d love to get my hands on a skirt simliar to what you wore wednesday (and to church)! wish I could find something so lovely here in the mid-west.

  3. I wish I felt comfortable in boots….but most of the time here it’s too hot….or I’m too short or something…haha I would spend part of my $200.00 on a polka dot sweater I’ve been eyeing in the Boden catalog…then I would need some new jeans or a skirt to go with it. Love that David wanted in on the action…how cute!

  4. I love the look. I can’t wait for it to cool off just a bit more so I can rock those boots too like you.
This is only my third week linking up at WIWW.

I currently have a fun anything goes linky at my blog that runs Friday through Monday each week. I just announced a new monthly “desperate 4 date night” linky and would love for you to join in on the fun. Here is the link explaing more.

Thanks for you time and hope to see you soon.

  5. honestly, if i had $200 to spend for fall, i’d spend it on a holiday spot in the Gussy Sews Holiday Gift Guide. i’ve got plenty of clothes, and what i’d like more than new pretties to wear is to promote my little etsy shop!

  6. Ooo, I would probably use to buy a new pair of boots. I’ve been lusting after Frye’s for a couple of years now, sadly they are over $200. 🙁

  7. brown boots for sure. I am looking for a good carmel color not too dark or not too light. not sure I could spend the whole 200.00 though. I am a sale shopper. so with what I have left? some new tops. I am having a breast reduction next week and I have spent years wearing big baggy tops to try and cover them or just fit them so something with buttons and form fitting.

  8. You should check out CAbi if you are looking for a great fall jacket. There are a couple there that you would rock! Look at the tweed bikers jacket – tough and classic or the tie-up vest. go to cabionline.com to see the whole thing! OK. Enough of the plug – the clothes are great and would totally mix with your style.
What would I do with an “extra” $200? I’d buy new boots and a great bag!

  9. I actually had my boss give me $200 in Visa gift cards in May….guess what I have had a hard time on what to spend this money on….for me, house, new grandbaby, my highschool senior son (not) or me!! So far I purchased a small piece of luggage for our vacation…I have $100 left. I am thinking about a new Knitting bag that is at my Local yarn shop or maybe a piece of Lisa leonard jewerly!! Decisions Decisions Decisions!!!

    Love your blog!!!

  10. I have been mixing different patterns, too, like different sized/colored polka dots, etc. It’s fun! Your “bowl of cherries” necklace always looks cute with that!

I would buy some Tom’s shoes…not because I think they look super-cool (I’m not too sure), but because of the great cause and the story behind them. I would buy more belts. I would buy the grey kenneth cole cardi I saw yesterday, too! And a fun dress on clearance at Ann Taylor! I would strrrreeetttccch those $200!

  11. I’m a new follower of yours, thanks to a friend who pointed me in your direction. 🙂 I just have to say…I looked at all your WIWW posts and I LOVE your style. I will definitely be getting inspiration from you.

  12. Boots and scaves! I wear scaves all year because my office is so cold but I miss my boots right now. And if I had money left over (because i love a good sale) I would pick up some jeans. I would live in jeans if I could.

  13. You look great, David is such a sweetie and like the previous reply you can really tell the South Beach is working!

  14. I would totally love to find a great pair of boots that are big enough in the calf area…I don’t have huge calfs, but for some reason they are all REALLY tight on me. So, that will be my task, if I choose to accept it. Oh, and come up with a spare $200 somewhere. 😉

  15. Lisa, you always look fabulous, but I really noticed in these pics that that South Beach Diet is really paying off for you!!

I would love to say I if I had $200 for fall clothes I would splurge on myself at Anthro, but truth be told it would probably suplement my kids’ already large wardrobes. They look so much cuter in the latest fashions than I do!!!

  16. I love your outfits! I don’t think there has been a single one that I have not liked. I definitely feel like I am in a rut. I wish I had the guts to branch out. If I had $200 I would try to find some long shirts or dresses to wear with leggings. I always love outfits like that but never feel like I can wear them….not sure why.

  17. You are always so cute and dress so nice. Im in a rut, lol. I think I need a total make over or at least someone to help pick out clothes. Not sure what I would buy if I had $200, probally end up buying clothes for my kids, isnt that what most moms end up doing?

  18. I would buy a blazer and cardigans. I’ve always been a fan of cardigans but I’ve just started a B.Ed. program and have to start dressing “professionally” which means blazers, etc.

  19. I’d buy some light airy sweaters and a dress… I’ve been eyeing more feminine flowery airy pieces lately:)

  20. first – love seeing david in your pics! second – love that skirt!!! gosh – for 200 dollars i could get a lot of pieces of clothing – i want (need) a new pair of nice grey pants..and could still get a couple of fallish long sleeves t-s! i hope that you enjoy your day.

  21. Well now we know the secret to your great natural smile in all your WIWW pictures – you’re smiling at David!

With an extra $200 I would buy myself a pair of fantastic fall boots (not to be confused with winter boots … I do live in Canada!). Or possibly a new handbag, but probably the boots.

  22. hmmm…..200? maybe a fun jacket from boden
    or
another pair of boots…maybe from sundance.

you & david are too cute
your smile tells the world what a joyful mama you are
    xo

  23. I love your skirt! Way way cute. If I had $200 to spend on something for fall, I’d hit the thrift and vintage shops for some old classic pieces.
