david and his nose.

david1261david1262*

i am happy to report that david’s tummy is feeling better .

he has been much less crampy and reflux-y.  we are so happy!

but a couple days ago while i was picking his nose

(don’t you pick your kids’ noses??)

i noticed a bump just inside the left nostril.

so we saw our pediatrician yesterday and the ENT today.

it looks like a benign polyp, but they want to do an MRI and see if there are other polyps or anything else to be concerned about.

we are driving down to children’s hospital in los angeles tomorrow morning to see a specialist.

they’ll probably schedule a simple surgery to remove the polyp(s).

we are hopeful that it will be simple and taken care of quickly.

in the meantime i am madly doing laundry, rescheduling meetings and getting the house in order since we weren’t planning on leaving town.

i’ll keep you updated.  and thanks for caring about our sweet david!

  1. Praying for, hubs, David and the doctors. I am sure this is all crazy right now.
That’ll teach you to pick your kids nose, right? Seriously, I’m so glad you did… and that somebody else does it, too!
love of love and can’t wait to see you soon and give you a hug.

  2. Praying for you all, especially David!!! Hopefully it will be minor and go smoothly. To think if you weren’t picking his nose.

  3. Lots of prayers, good thoughts and angles of peace being sent your way as you travel and see the doctors in LA.

Loved your last two posts, Matthias b-day and the frame photos – glad you guys had a nice weekend!

All the best and sending you hugs,
    xoTiffany

  4. It’s never fun when something is wrong with your kiddo — add to that the stress (and annoyance) of doctor’s visits — in my book, those are rarely fun either. Will pray for David today. Thank you for sharing the joys & struggles….and I don’t think I’ve said it yet, Happy New Year. 😉

  5. i also have a son, mac, with special needs, he’s 17 now, but what a joy he brings to our lives. what breaks my heart is all the nasty things he has to endure, much like david. so unfair. the bright side is that he has taught us & continues to teach us daily how to be better people. it’s obvious that david has blessed your family. i wish him better days ahead & you too. hang in there…lots of hugs

  6. Hope all goes well for your little champ. Drive safely. Hey LIsa, I realized that your sister lives in OC..me too…I am sure that you will find something with “love” during your trip here. Keep us all posted and thinking of you. Hugs

  7. Goodness, that little guy is having quite a time, as are you I’m sure. You seem to be keeping positive. Make sure to do nice things for yourself as often as possible. Wishing you loads of good luck.

  8. I will say an extra prayer for your sweet family tonight. You touch me in ways you’ll never know, Lisa. I know David will be fine. I know it

  9. Sending much positivity to you and your family…I may not know you personally, but you are in my thoughts. Hang in there Mama…xo

  10. If it ‘aint one thing, it’s your mother…(: You seem like a resilient person and someone who stays positive and upbeat as hard as that is sometimes. Good luck to you and I will add you to my prayers…

  11. lisa…we will be praying for david tomorrow and for the doctors as they care for him. hopefully it will be simple and not much to it. let us know how he is doing! have a safe trip!

  12. Oh my goodness, Lisa. What a roller coaster for you guys. I hope it goes smoothly and turns out to be quite minor. I can relate to those “we didn’t know we were going to the hospital but here we go” experiences, but not so much lately. Good luck with everything. (And yes, I do pick my kids’ noses when they will let me! I’m a picker).

  13. Happy to hear your sweet boy’s tummy is better. Best wishes for David’s appointment tomorrow. Sending warm thoughts your whole family’s way – Tina x
