a visit to the farm

September 10th | family, san luis obispo



i don’t think we made it avila valley barn all summer.

but we made it on labor day (so that sort of counts!).

and they still had plenty of animals to feed,

fresh berry pie and ice cream.

lucky us!

i can’t wait until they break out all the pumpkins

and start the tractor rides.

yay for fall!

    Meeeee! i can’t wait! Fall is my favorite time of year. Leaves changing color, pumpkins, hayrides, bonfires, halloween, soups, pumpkin bread, sweater time, a nip in the air just a few things i love about the fall.

    Oh when the air has alittle bit of coolness to it. That is Fall to me. I love it. Its my favorite Season. And of course the leaves changing, those colors are just amazing to me.

  4. oh…the crisp morning air. The leaves changing colors. my wedding anniversary on halloween. pumpkin spice mochas & pumpkin scones at starbucks.

    I love the cool breeze in the morning and the beautiful colors of the leaves. Wrapping my hands around a mug of homemade chili is pure bliss.

    Read and gold leaves, an invigorating nip in the air, and pumpkin spice lattes. That’s what feels like fall to me :p

    the sound of leaves blowing in an autumn breeze. :) oh and I agree with Lori Anne above, pumpkin spice lattes are how I celebrate the return of fall! hahaha

    I can’t wait for the pumpkin patches, so much fun! Gorgeous pictures as always and hope you have a wonderful weekend.     Pep assemblies for football games at the high school where I teach! Fridays take a turn once school starts!

    In Texas, it is all about football. When you see the high school kiddos practicing for cheerleading, drill team, band or football, you know it’s fall.

    Really those emus are nasty little buggers. They are not very nice.

    I love fall! Baking pumpkin chocolate chip bread, sipping hot coffee or tea any time of day, wearing cozy sweaters on crisp morning walks. A wonderfully lovely season…can’t wait for it to start!

    Cooler weather, for sure! We were at the farm this summer…yummy blueberries!

  15. For once, we are not there yet (I’m from Montreal, Canada…)!
    For me, fall is about geese flying out and apple picking.
    I love to see the leaves change colors…butt then you have to rake….
    Halloween is limit winter for us… so I really like september and fall in general!

    Definitely the annual trip to the pumpkin patch, which usually doesn’t happen until mid October, but that’s what does it for me.

    Apple orchards and cool crisp air, along with hot apple cider. Can’t wait to make our way to the orchard to pick our own, then make apple sauce and pie!

    Crisp cool mornings, Yankee Candle Autumn Wreath candles always burning in my home, cobblers! Everything! This is my favorite time of year!

    I love this time of year. The cool weather comes and we sleep with the windows open! The cold night air causes us to sleep so deeply……and the cool morning air gives me a perky wake up call.

    I love Avila Valley Barn! In fact, I was there just last summer. My husband(who’s name is also Steve)is from Pismo Beach so we visit every year or 2.
