what chrissie made? {my sister’s beautiful home }

we were able to grab a super quick dinner with my sister at new home a few weeks ago. they recently moved and chrissie has made such a beautiful home for her family.

she’s exceptional at creating collages of photos, frames and paintings. i am so inspired!

we found this metal peacock at a thrift store for $2. it was a fairly hideous copper color with irridescent feathers. she spray painted it aqua and gave it new life.

she also likes to have pops of red throughout her home. i love this vintage scale and fresh produce.

the pic on the left is another collage and on the right is their cute pup.

a collection of vintage ‘R’s’ make a playful display in the kitchen. i love this leather chair with pretty pillows.

books, books, books–can you tell they’re a family who loves to read??

i would describe her home as warm and inviting with lots of dark wood and natural light. it’s vintage mixed with new and filled with art and photos. it’s peaceful and spacious and full of love.

i love your home, sis!

  1. love the mix of frames – I always fear mixing it up like that – I always use same frames in a collage. her’s look great – I’m inspired.

is R their last name ltr? or some other significance? I’m thinking of doing a little corner of H’s (our last name) – bought my first one about a week ago.

also – I found a serving tray a couple of weeks ago – black w/ zebra print on the tray (not our style) – and you inspired me so for $2 I bought it and put cream paint on it, and much more subtle paper on the tray and use it as a “catch-all” for my husband’s “stuff”. thank you for continuing to inspire.

  2. what a great style and feel this home has. i love the r’s. and the peacock. and the love pillow. and the globe. 🙂 home inspiration for sures!

  3. Wow, what amazing spaces! I am also crazy about pops of red … and the scale is awesome (I think the one in my kitchen is almost identical – found it on a trip to Mill Valley, California [I am from Canada] two years ago at an amazing shop called Maison Reve – great antiques and newer items all in a modern farmhouse esthetic … just amazing!). You and Chrissie both have sweet style!

  4. She has a beautiful home Lisa! I love that peacock. It reminds of my late grandpa because his neighbor had huge peacocks that would come into grandpa’s yard when we were little. Grandpa loved them too. Have a beautiful day!

  5. What a beautiful home! My husband and I are moving down to Key West in 2 weeks and I am so inspired! Thank you for your wonderful posts!

  6. That peacock!!! My grandmother had that peacock in her home. I had forgotten about it until I saw the photo. What a great paint color. Her home is lovely.

On another note, I found a huge 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 foot chalkboard with wood frame and stand for $5 at a yard sale. I brought it home, of course. It’s in my kitchen and will make a home on my wall minus the stand in a few days. Can’t wait to get it up! It reminds me of yours.

  7. Love that peacock!! I really need to open my mind (and eyes) when I go thrifting. I see this kind of thing all the time and pass it over, then see it on the web and slap my forehead…duh! Love all the frames…and the doggie, too. 🙂

  8. Hey Lisa,
I love the “pops” of red, is it just a favorite color or is does it have a different purpose?
