one of my favorite vintage shops in santa barbara {punch}

punch is one of my favorite vintage shops in santa barbara. it’s located near anthropologie and just down the way from carlitos {super yummy mexican fusion}, so the location is pretty much perfect.

it’s eclectic and colorful and full of inspiration. isn’t that aqua chandelier fun?!

and i love these green suitcases for stacking and storing things.

these plastic letter magnets take me waaaay back. question, at what age does ‘bed’ go from being something negative to something wonderful?

that yellow mirror is so happy!

this little floral pin would be so cute on a purse or sundress.

so many pretty things in one shop–makes my heart happy!

a vintage, green record player. love.

if you’re near santa barbara, stop by for a visit. punch is located at 1223 state street.

are you feeling inspired?

  1. Hi Lisa,
Thanks for taking the time to post Punch on your Blog! We are a Hip Vintage Collective with loads of Swanky Vintage Merchandise, making its way through the door every day! Don’t miss out on all the FUN! Come have a little Punch!!!

  2. I wonder if my mom still has her green suitcases (that I used to hate to use growing up because I thought they were – old). They look the same as those ‘vintage’ ones you highlighted. How times have changed? I am drawn to vintage now.

  3. What a great looking store! I love places like that. Are the alphabet magnets seriously selling for $3 a piece … ’cause I’m thinking I’m sitting on a goldmine here at the house. 🙂

  4. I LOVE Santa Barbara! We used to visit every year, but haven’t for a while. Love the shops on State Street. I can’t wait to check out Punch next time we go back.

  5. Love this shop….live near Seattle so a bit of a jaunt to visit. I received similar suitcases as a granduation gift
from my parents in 1964….how fun. Mine are long gone.
Fun to see some similar after so many years.

  6. This shop use to be in Carpenteria, and moved to SB. I did the paris Fleamarket twice as a dealer, a lot of fun. Can’t wait to get in a store again, as a dealer. Now moving to San Diego next month. Thanks for the inspiration and all. Love all the little stories about places you’ve been. I use to live in Ventura before moving to Monterey Cty. I was a dealer in American Home and Garden. Have you had much luck finding things in Ventura. We still own our home in Ventura, someday we will move back. I just know it. Love Carpenteria Too!!

  7. What a fun shop. I wish it was closer to Portland, though!
Oh – and to answer your question… I have always loved sleep, so “bed” never really had a bad conotation to me, even as an infant. My lucky mom!

  8. Fun! I have a question – do store owners mind when you bust out your camera and start taking pictures? Or do you ask first? I was in a really cool store yesterday and I thought it would be fun to blog about some of the cool products they had so I snapped a few pics. I felt like I was getting the evil eye from the employees. Not sure if some places have a policy against that because they think you might try to duplicate their product.
    What is your protocol?

    1. hi alima! i always ask first and usually they are very open to me sharing their stuff with you guys. but not everyone is comfortable with you taking shots in their store!

  9. Oh how I love the yellow mirror and that big vintage pin. I collect those(although its going very slowly:)) and use them on bags.
That vintage record player? Its exactly what I need for these old Disney records the great grandparents handed down to us. The player they gave us isnt working right:(

Im praying I can find a portable player sometime this summer in my thrifting and yard sale excursions.

  10. I need that gumball machine for my husband! We own a vending business and he loves finding old gumball machines to set out on locations. Its gorgeous! Never thought I would marry the *gumball king*!

  11. You are killing me! I needed this post about 7 weeks ago – before I drove 2000 miles out to SB! 🙂 It looks like an awesome store and I remember well being on State Street looking for a Starbucks! I was “so close” to this! 🙂 C’est la vie! Looks like you had fun, though!

  12. Okay, too funny! Andy and I went to SB for an overnight a few months ago and I said to him “This shop totally reminds me of Lisa!” He suggested I take pics and blog about it, but I was too embarrassed. 🙂
