polka dot dress five ways

Hi friends! I have a super fun {and affordable} dress to share with you today! I’ve styled it five different ways and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing this a lot over the next few seasons. And polka dots are just necessary as far as I’m concerned. I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

The first look is kind of summer–but if you live in California, you’ve been having summer weather. We need rain and badly–but that’s a topic for another day! I love to layer on a scarf to keep the sun off my shoulders. And these stripy sandals are surprisingly comfortable.

For the second look I wore black flats and a faux green leather jacket. Sometimes flats are a necessity–like if I’m chasing David or walking a lot.

The third look is probably my favorite. I love this slouchy cardigan and the nude booties add a little length to my legs.

I feel like no ‘what i wore post’ is really complete without a denim jacket and leopard print heels. These are my go to style items. I think of my denim jacket like a blankey–I feel more comfortable when I have it with me.

And for chillier days how about an oversized cardi, thick scarf and boots? This dress is such a basic, it can be styled so many ways!

  1. I think #3 is cute with the sweater and booties. Definitely plenty of ways to wear the dress. And I agree…polka dots are just fun!

  2. hello, if i could be honest, and although this dress is very pretty, and you are too, i still don’t think this is one of the most flattering things you could wear for your shape and build. please forgive me for saying that but it really emphasizes the tummy area, when you could wear clothes a lot more flattering for your body frame (that is very beautiful!) also if I might add, that this is really a Summer dress and to me, it looks out of place with a heavy scarf and cardigan and if it’s cold to begin with you would freeze your legs and bottom off like crazy in this, so why would you wear the dress in colder weather to begin with? Also, I don’t think any of the shoes belong with this dress, or maybe it’s just that the dress is all wrong for you and possibly a tad too short???? I don’t know, but it doesn’t make sense to me, maybe I’m wrong, but I am just voicing my opinion and I’m not trying to hurt or be rude, just honest. you are so pretty and have shown so many other gorgeous looks, that I don’t know why you would even go with this one (?)

  3. I love the last look. May be because fall is upon us in New England and II love the big slouchy sweater and the colors of the scarf! I love to make my wardrobe stretch through the various seasons!
