mixing patterns with a vintage dress

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration!

I discovered this little gem of a dress tucked away in a thrift store in Newton, Kansas. I think it may have been waiting just for me. The $2 price tag meant she had to be mine.

I think happy girls are the prettiest, don’t you?

Photobomb by David! Nicely done.

Outfit details: Dress, thrifted, $2. Leopard print heels, Target. {I’m on my second pair–my first pair wore out! That’s how much I love them.} Belt, ever+mi crush. Gold connected hearts bracelet, my shop. Happy girls bag, Moxie Clothing. {swag from craft weekend}

This dress makes me want to sip tea in the sunshine while having a long chat over lunch with a dear friend. Doesn’t that sound perfect right now?

  1. Small world! I follow The Pleated Poppy and got hooked on your blog from that. Just read this post and wanted to say my family is from the small town of Newton KS! My Mom & dad grew up there and have friends still there. Haven’t lived there in 30 years but lots of memories!

  2. I love the saying on the bag… it’s true. And I hinted for that bracelet for Mother’s Day but my husband did not get it… should have hinted harder… may just have to buy it for myself 🙂

  3. lisa you are darling! i didnt know you did some style posts! you are so dang cute! i have been wearing my acorn necklace all the time I got from SNAP! and I love it! Thank you so much!

  4. I like your bag…definitely happy girls are the prettiest. That’s what I tell my daughter. And, you always find such great dresses.

  5. Love your dress!

    My daughter and I, she’s 11, sometimes go through your fashion posts just to get style inspiration.

    I love your outfits. You always, always look put together.

    I’d love for you to do a post on your curly hair and how you style it and take care of it. I have curly hair that is suddenly short (after a bad haircut that had to be “fixed”) and I’m struggling with really liking it. Yours always seems to look perfect, so I figure you’ve got a good routine down. Just a suggestion for a post. 🙂
