WIWW {me and david}

Hi friends! It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration. Tea clothing sent us some seriously awesome shirts and pants for the boys–and we love it all. David is doing some modeling today.I’ll just say first of all, that after looking at these pics, I should have gone with a darker boot–but oh well, right? Next time I plan to pair the skirt with tights and a nice gray pair of booties. Kelly green skirt, black sweater, yellow belt, all Target. Boots, Anthropologie.

David’s got a new outfit on c/o tea clothing {love}

these soft cargo pants, and striped tee come out of the dryer perfect {and don’t even make it into the drawer before he’s wearing them again}

Still loving my connected necklace, my shop.

And on to our second look… this was Monday and David was home sick. He doesn’t look too sick, but my little sweetheart is so congested. We’ve been doing breathing treatments and inhalers every few hours to try to keep him breathing well. Since we were staying home, we wanted to be comfy!

On me, favorite jeans, Anthropologie. Loose gray tunic, Target {a few years ago}

Sandals, Old Navy. David’s converse, Target.

David’s button up tee is from Tea clothing. Their clothes are adorable–and wash and wear so well. Check out these sets–i love the mix and match style. That’s how we roll.

My new bag c/o Jeanne Oliver. Inside, pockets and compartments. I love an organized bag!! It’s great for your camera or diaper bag or even a computer bag. In my case, it’s full of my camera, diapers, water bottle, wallet and make-up bag. Find it here.

Thank you Jeanne–you make very lovely things. Hop over and get inspired on Jeanne’s blog.

My necklace, allora handmade of course! And my favorite molded heart bracelet from my shop.

We are sick and tired of being sick and tired! And everyone we know seems to have the sniffles or be getting over the flu. Around here, sick days look like cozy blankets, lazy mornings, long showers or baths {to clear David’s congestion}, extra cups of coffee {for me} and a cell phone near by to keep on top of things while I’m away from the workshop.

What’s your favorite way to spend a sick day?

  1. I’m in Australia. We have “Target” here, but it’s not the same.

    I’ve done a dress with some leggings today and for a bit of colour/quirky I’m wearing a necklace one of my children made me.

    I tend to go to op shops (thrift shops) for second hand clothes as I can usually afford them! But I am on the look out for a good pair of maternity pants I can layer with for the upcoming winter.

    I’m also sorely lacking in the accessories department. Something I will try to “fix”.

    Thanks for your suggestions. 🙂

  2. I discovered your blog through the Nester. :-). Your son is gorgeous :-).

    I have a question for you though, any tips for dressing nicely, with a varied wardrobe, on a budget and when you live outside the US and so don’t have massive Target sales where they sell great stuff for $6… Thanks. I wear dresses and skirts and I know what dresses suit me – wrap dresses or ones that have that cross over front. They suit me and are handy for when I’m breastfeeding. But it tends to be the only style of dress I wear. How do I get out of the same old same old. Thanks!

    1. Hi Liz! Were are you living? I have found some great finds at both Tesco and Primark when I’m in England. I definitely think you can look great on a tight budget. Top three tips would be 1. Choose wisely–a great pair of pants or the perfect top can be worn mulitple times a week. 2. Pair your wrap dresses with fun tights and shoes to mix it up. 3. Let the accessories take it to the next level–a colorful necklace, scarf or fun belt make the outfit stand out. xo

  3. Lisa, you are ADORABLE! And so is David. 🙂

    I’m hoping to be up in SLO this month or next visiting my sister, will you be having another Open House any time soon? Would love to come see where all the LLD magic happens and meet adorable you!

  4. First of all! Look at you! You look great! Love that teal skirt hoping I can get to Target to snag me one before they are all gone! Question? Tea clothing is it located anywhere in OK? David looks super cute in all his outfits they send would love to get some for my little Landry! Hope your having a blessed wk!

  5. Loving the tunic!!

    I’ve started tossing the throw blanket from the back of the couch into the dryer for my kiddos when they’re sick. They love how toasty they are with it while watching cartoons! That’s what sick days look like around here.

    Get well soon, handsome David! Our Tea catalog just arrived, and Clementine (almost 3) wanted to show me all the pretty little girls in her “magazine.” And so it begins…

  6. Great pics of you and your son (hope he’s feeling better) I love your yard, it’s absolutely beautiful! Great outfits too!

  7. Love your sweater from Target, so I just ordered it! Thanks for your sweet daily blog, you always brighten my day! Hope you little jellybean gets better soon!

  8. Lisa honey I love all of your outfits but I have to say my eye was caught by your garden!!! I see some New Zealand plants in there…!! xxx

  9. A sick day for me usually means a headache…so lying around with a cold (beanbag) wrap on my head is what I do. My girls used to love watching cartoons…even when they were “past” the age of watching (most) cartoons…it was a guilty pleasure.

  10. Lisa, you look adorable as usual! I love your haircut. I just want to squeeeeze David’s cheeks…very gently of course!!! I hope he feels better soon!

  11. I did get inspired by Jeanne, and ordered my self an adorable purse from her. 🙂 I recieved it about a wk ago and I love it!!! It’s kind of your “fault” Lisa, when you wore the dress she sent you, I checked out her website and darn it fell in love w/the purse. I love the new bag you have from her also. You and David look beautiful as always. Hope he is feeling better.

  12. When my son was little, he was sick a lot (a lot, a lot, a lot!!!). The one thing that always seemed to soothe him was watching our Winnie the Pooh dvd (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh). It’s just so sweet and calm and even now, if he is sick in the night (which is far less often thank goodness), I’ll put it in and he’ll lay on the couch watching it and napping.

    I certainly hope that David feels better soon and that your family can have a long stretch of illness free days! Take care!
