what i wore {thrifted finds}

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

Lately I’ve had some pretty sweet finds at local thrift shops. The awesome thing about thrift stores is you never know what you’re going to find–and I love hunting for that unexpected treasure.

I’ve got three outfits to share today. I love looking for dresses when I’m out thrifting–well I love looking for dresses any time I’m shopping. But dresses can be mixed with shoes and accessories and they’re easy to update.

This first dress is really more of a top. It’s pretty short–so I pair it with either heavy leggings or two pairs of tights. Scroll down for the details on this outfit.

Look one: Vintage dress, Ruby Rose. Tights, Target. Boots, 7 for all Mankind. Chunky cuff, thrifted. Ocean view bracelet, our hope{full} collection.

This second outfit is thrifted from head to toe. How awesome is that–even the shoes were a thrift find in Dallas. Woo-hoo! Scroll down for outfit details.

Look two: Vintage skirt, Mission thrift. Button-up blouse, Hope chest thrift. Nude heels, Thrifted in Dallas. You are necklace, my shop.{one of my faves!}

When I stumbled on this last dress {for $5} I may have high-fived myself. I was so excited!! The drop waist and contrasting pleat totally remind me of the movie Annie–which I watched 10 million times as a child {and I’m hardly exaggerating}. Scroll down for details.

Look three: Vintage dress, Mission thrift. Gray tights, Target. Boots, 7 for all Mankind. Connected bracelet, my shop.

I love seeing what other people find thrifting, but sometimes it can be such a bummer because I WISH I WAS THE ONE WHO FOUND THAT. Darn it! But hopefully you’ll be inspired and not annoyed by this post. Because more treasures are waiting to be found–right?!

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE the middle outfit! (probably ’cause i’m not a super huge fan of black) The lighter colors are beautiful and it is super flattering on you! score! (and i love that length of skirt!)

  2. We just got back from Morro Bay, SLO and Santa Barbara and oh my the treasures we found! Leave it to us to mix camping, and town strolling. Bliss! Had the best time, even drove to Cambria for a day, more treasures! And I met your dear friends at Ruby Rose, had a fun afternoon there thrifting, sharing stories, art and even a little music. What an amazing shop. My kids (and husband too) filled their sketchbooks with drawings from gorgeous SLO and it’s historic architecture. We’re fans of urban sketching. SLO area is the perfect backdrop for great art. My oldest did a great drawing inside Sally Loo’s. Even my 5 year old girl did beautiful drawings of the Fremont and the Mission. Oh I could go on and on, we soaked it all up and had a memorable trip! You are blessed to live in such a beautiful area. And yes, the thrifting and the antiques? Don’t get me started, a feast for all the senses. You central coast people have best of it!

    1. I’m so glad you had fun! Sounds like an inspiring getaway!! The central coast is so lovely. xx

  3. Gah!!! I just don’t get it! Every time I am in a thrift store, all I can ever find is prom dresses, crazy floral moo-moos, and stuff with fringe or pleated pants. You seriously must have the BEST thrift stores by you, Lisa. These are so gorgeous!

    1. Haha! I find those things too.. but I must admit, we have some pretty awesome thrift stores in SLO and surrounding towns! xo

  4. You go girl! I’ve been thrifting twice this week, found some great things, but not in my size. Bummer! I’m not giving up. It’s fun. You look great! I love all of those looks, but my fav is the “Annie” inpsired dress. Amazing find for 5 bucks!
