3 things about poncho love you guys need to know

Hey friends! It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

Lately I’ve been loving ponchos. It’s kind of like having your blankie with you all day because they’re so drapey and cozy! I’ve collected a few ponchos over the last couple months. They aren’t expensive–two of them are from thrift stores. Score! Take a look…

*Side note, I thrifted these jeans last week {it’s the same jeans in each pic} and I just cuffed them a bit differently based on what shoes I was wearing.

This first one is from Forever 21. I love the graphic design. The colors are whimsical and FUN! and did I mention it’s cozy?

Poncho, Forever 21. Jeans, Thrifted. Black top, Target. Booties, Seven for all Mankind. From Any Angle Necklace, my shop.

Photo bombed by my sweet NINE year old. Sigh, I love that kid.He was home for a sick day–so we got lots of cuddling in.

Poncho number two caught my eye because I love the color. Someone spent hours knitting this thing, and I found it at the thrift shop for $4. Don’t worry, I’ll give it a good home!

Hand-knit poncho, thrifted. Jeans, thrifted. Denim top, Target. Leopard print heels, Target. Colorful bangles, thrifted. I love you bracelet, from our heartfelt collection, available here.

This time David decided to photo bomb me! I have to laugh–and soak up the hugs whenever I can!

Poncho number three is so SOFT. Oh my, I love it. It’s just plain black but the fringe is fun. Easy, peasy.

Black poncho, thrifted. Jeans, thrifted. Black top, Target. Booties, Steve Madden.

So let’s hear it. Ponchos–yes or no? Would you, could you? I love them. Am I the only one??

  1. I am in the process of crocheting a poncho right now as a birthday gift to a very special girlfriend of a very special son of mine!
LOVE that they are coming back – the next poncho I make will definitely be mine!

  2. The ponchos looked great, but as the mom of 2 boys I loved seeing your cute guys jump in the pictures even better:)

  3. The ponchos look good on you…but I would feel goofy I think…or like I needed a guitar to go with it…haha. I wouldn’t have the confidence needed to pull it off…and I think that’s the key…shoot…I just started being comfortable wearing boots last year! haha It’s like hats (berets) , scarves, etc…I try them on…they look ok…but I never make it past the front door in any of them…good thing it’s nice and warm in Florida!
Love how the boys wanted in on the fun…hugging mom is cozy…mom wearing a {“blanket”} poncho……even better!

  4. I have been wearing ponchos for years. They go in style, they go out, they go in, they go out….I just hang on to my favorites, let the dogs snuggle in the ones I have tired of and wait for the next poncho wave to hit. I am glad this time it lasted a little longer than it did a couple years ago.
By the way….you look maaaaaavvvelous in them.
    Cute as a bug.

  5. I have a soft pink poncho that I bought at Cracker Barrel (of all places) several years ago. I always receive compliments when I wear it.

  6. oh, they are not my thing – but you look great in them!

i am pretty convinced you can make anything look good lisa! you are very creative and I love all your inspiration!

i am currently working on a black skirt and black top combo and making 8 or so outfits out of it – thanks for the great ideas!!

  7. I love them! Just recently posted about how I’m sick of my California-winter uniform of jeans & a hoodie. These keeps you warm, but are way cuter…and I like how you can take them off to do stuff around the house, then throw it back on to go out again.

  8. Not a poncho lover here. Just never could get over the fact that I feel like I’m walking around with a blanket on. Glad you love and enjoy them, though! To each her own. 🙂

  9. You nailed it!! I love a poncho or wrap, etc. They are chic, comfy and elegant all in one. Your sweet little guys complete your look! LOL

  10. I love ponchos! I have one that my mother bought me back in 2002 or 4, I can’t remember. She passed away in May of last year so I will not give up this poncho till it has it’s last days. It’s a black knitted one (the ‘holes’ kind) similar collar to your yellow one. I would like to get some other ponchos as I really like them. I’m glad you posted yours, now I can buy some new ones (or search for thrifted).

  11. You are certainly not alone. I love them also but sometimes I feel like they make me look big. I love that you put more fitted jeans with them to balance out. You look amazing as always!!!

  12. I got that poncho from F21 as well. I love all the colors it can be paired with and it also gives us an excuse to basically walk around wearing a blanket!

    Hope you can visit,

  13. I love that mustard poncho – what a find! I have a few ponchos and ponchettes (short ponchos that cover 1/2 your upper body) and I love them. It’s amazing how much warmth they can add!

  14. Love the ponchos, and how you can make the same pair of jeans look different for each outfit. I have a grey patterned poncho I scored on clearance at Kohl’s that I love wearing with jeans and comfy flats. 🙂
