  1. Oh thank God! I had that happen not to long ago… and wasn’t able to recover my stuff, so glad you could!!! Now I use Time Machine from Apple, iDisk and still backup things externally… which reminds me, I need to make sure everything recent is backed up! Thanks for the reminder 🙂

What a GORGEOUS family you are!!

  2. YEAH!

i stil have my old hard drive, does shane want to see if he can rescue my pics?

i recommend getting the time machine from apple. it backs up daily, and does all the remembering for you. so worth it!

  3. I’m so glad you knew someone who could help. When our computer crashed two years ago our son (16 at the time) knew enough to get to my music and picture files. He backed them up on his external hard drive. I was so upset when it happened and so relieved when it was determined I hadn’t lost everything. I’m still bad about backing things up. Every now and then he’ll do it for me. Nice to have a computer whiz for a son. So, so happy for you.

  4. Glad you were able to recover everything. We had a similar experience about 8 weeks ago. We weren’t able to recover though. Fortunately we had backed everything up when we got our new computer 6 months ago and had posted many of our pictures to our blog, Facebook, and Shutterfly, so we didn’t lose too much. We now use a Time Capsule from Mac and their program, Time Machine. It automatically backs everything on our computer up once a day (well, after the initial backup, it searches your computer once a day– or as many times as you set it– to backup any document that is new or has been changed). The best part? It’s 2 Terrabytes and you can back up multiple computers to it, so we can backup our laptop as well. Worth the money for the piece of mind. 🙂

  5. Lisa- you don’t know me but I love your jewelry and blog. We are in the middle of a kitchen makeover and was wondering if you knew what color/wood your floors are? They are beautiful and look pretty neutral.
    Thanks.
PS: so glad you got your pictures back…it’s the curse and blessing of technology.

  6. I’m so relieved for you, family pics are so precious – I will start backing up regularly now too! Thank you

  7. isn’t that the worst feeling?! i lost a TON of pix a few years ago and my computer-nerd hubby recovered them all. i’m glad your stuff was recovered!
