  1. hmmm…I live in a cabin in the snow covered mountains and we are headed to Klamath this week for more snow covered mountains (hopefully) and I LOVE IT BUT HONESTLY, I’m a warm weather girl at heart so I would pick the SoCal beaches and Disneyland!

  2. Mountain cabin, definitely. I’m all about the snuggle in winter.
As an aside, I just found your blog (came from Portabellopisxie’s) and it is every bit as lovely as your work.

  3. For me, I would rather be somewhere hot….Disney would be my choice.

I live in Peterborough, Ontario. Canada. We are prone to warm summers (not hot) and looonnng, cold winters. I love the snow and all the white, crispness that comes with it, but, when we go on vacation, it has to be warm climates.

Besides, who doesnt love to go to Disney????

  4. I would have to say get away to disneyland and the hotel since I live in a state where we have winter and snow and have had my fair share of white christmas.

  5. i would take the cabin… as much fun as disney would be, our year has been insane w/ work and new blessings… i think our family needs time to regroup in a quiet place and focus on each other before another year comes sweeping in…

  6. we live in alberta, canada and although we have no snow, as of it, i’m sure we will. so…my place to be would be disney & having a ball in the sunshine 😀

  7. I can’t decide. I choose three days in Disneyland, then a day of driving to the mountains (I’ve done the drive before – it’s 10 hours to Utah!), then three and a half days in the mountains. I can’t pick! I miss Disneyland so much! But I also miss the mountains! It’s been too long since I’ve been to the west coast.

  8. oh wow, i would love both–depending on how i felt the day i planned the trip i guess. i love both the fun and the relaxing get-aways! maybe i would choose the cabin for just me and my husband because since the kids were born we have only ever been away together for one night (at a time) i think. we need to get away!

  9. I would have to say the mountain cabin. It sounds perfect! A book, board games, snow, snuggling under a blanket. I need a getaway like that…

  10. We’ve been to disney quite a few times with our daughters since we used to live 2 hours from the happiest place on earth… We moved to NC and we have yet to go to the mountains so I would definitely have to pick the mountains. I’m from Canada and I miss the snow (real snow, 6 feet of the white stuff) so to have it up there in the mountains for more then a few hours would be bliss! My girls would LOVE it.

  11. Tough decision… I love warm weather… but the thought of a mountain cabin and a good book…mmmm…. hard to resist. I guess if I could be assured that I’d stay warm, I’d take the mountain cabin.

  12. Hmm…my son is too young to fully understand and appreciate Disneyland so cabin it is. Nature hikes and treasure hunts and warm snuggles with hot cocoa and the occasional movie sound just perfect to me.

  13. No doubt the quiet, calm, time together spent in a snowy mountain cabin. Lots of comfort food, movies, good books, board games…..nothing to *do*, no place to *be*…..sigh. I would love that!

  14. I would have to choose California. I would say that it all depends on ones orientation to the choice made…since we have cold, we have the cocoa and we do the whole cabin fever thing on a regular basis…having something different is what makes the choice easy.

  15. Both sound great, but I would love the mountain cabin. The only thing you forgot in its description is my dogs, who would be snuggled up with me under the blankets while I read.

  16. The mountains!!! We took all kinds of vacations as a family when I was a kid. And you know what my brothers and I have the fondest memories of?? The mountains! Camping! Storytelling! Roasting marshmellows! Just slowing down and being together as a family…..I think more families ought to try it nowadays.

  17. We live 20 min from Disneyland, have season passes and are there all the time, so…relaxing is a cabin is the ideal for me =)

  18. The snow covered mountain cabin. We love Disneyworld. But. Being from Florida our daughter has never seen snow. And. Time to slow down, unwind… sounds like heaven!

  19. Mountain cabin! I love the mountains and miss them very much. No mountains in WI. My family loves nature, hot cocoa, and snuggling! We do not like crowds and loud places.

  20. Well, it depends on if my children are traveling with me, or not. We actually leave WI for Disneyland in 29 days…and I know my girls are going to LOVE it. But, when we are done, I just might be in need of some me time, and a snowcovered cabin with a fire, Bailey’s in my coffee, a good book and my husband sounds like just the thing! As long as I have no need to go out in the snow.

  21. While I do love snow, we get enough of it to satisfy me in Ohio. So I’d definitely pick S. Cali and Disneyland…especially with my almost 2 year old. 🙂

  22. I’d so choose the snow covered cabin! I’ve never been a big fan of crowds and lots of noise. Now I’m imagining a rousing game of uno w/my family sprawled in front of a crackling fire…..ahhhhhh!

  23. This is a tough choice to make! I think right now I would choose California because I have snow and cold and hot chocolate here.

    Which would you choose?

  24. Disney! We have been talking about a trip to Disney for years and hope to get there one of these days. My daughter would be in absolute heaven!

  25. Oh my gosh! Hands down it would be a mountain cabin. Just me and my family tucked away for a few days. That is my dream. We moved in with my dad a year and a half a go after my mom died and I haven’t a moment alone with either myself or just them since. Hmmm…maybe that is what we’ll do this Chritsmas.

  26. No doubt about it – the mountains!! Relaxtion away from crowds and people!!! Maybe with another family, but definitely away from chaos!!!

  27. Absolutely, a mountain cabin in the snow! Since I live in the south, we rarely ever have snow and one of my dreams is to one day get to spend Christmas with my whole family in a snow-covered mountain cabin!!

  28. They both would be fun. Either would be a wonderful time. I just got back from a New England adventure and a trip to NYC. I would choose CA. I have always wanted to visit CA. We have plenty of cold and snow coming this way and the later choice is what a lot of my winter will hopefully consist of! 🙂

  29. My husband grew up in a family of five kids and has never been, so I would take him and our two boys to Disneyland! We have enough snow here in Chicago. 🙂

  30. I would choose the snow!!!! Since I live in So Cal and have passes to Disney we get to go quite a bit! We are so fortunate and blessed!!! <3

  31. With my kids? Disneyland. Without my kids? Mountains. My kids would drive me NUTS in the mountains for too long. We’d all have a blast at Disneyland. My kids have never been there! (YET!)

  32. By far I would choose Disneyland! i’m an AZ native and cold weather isn’t in my blood! I took my daughter there last month (for her 4th trip) and we had an absolute blast! It truly is the happiest place on earth!!

  33. Definitely Disneyland. I have two little girls who are pining away for “princess land.” We live in MN, so the snow isn’t really novel or relaxing when we have to shovel it every time!

  34. I am a California girl and love the warm weather but I would still chosen the cabil. The chaos and craziness of Disneyland is not for me. We have been there on several occasions and after about one hour I am definately ready to go home and relax.

  35. Disney at this point in our lives. We’ve been saving and planning for a trip there when our kids are just a little older. The cabin is much more my cup of tea but there will be a time for that in the future too.

  36. If the kids are coming then definitely Disneyland otherwise… well, both sound wonderful. The cabin wins by a hair since Disneyland is still fun year round but the cabin won’t be snowy and cozy later.

  37. I can’t make up my mind. Currently I live where it should be cold and snowy (gotta love above normal temperatures!) so I should be thinking Disneyland since I’ve never been and to continue enjoying warmer weather. However I have been to Disneyworld and Disney Paris. Kids would love it I’m sure as I’m sure I would too. Hubby’s job is so so stressful so the quiet calm of a mountain cabin sounds heavenly (especially if the Blackberry and laptop won’t work). Long naps, hot chocolate, snuggling under a blanket in front of a roaring fire…okay I just talked myself into the mountain cabin!

  38. Since I know the cold is coming to Ohio I’d have to choose the warm in California! However, I do really like the cold at Christmas time because it really makes it more fitting!

  39. I choose Disneyland. We’re in Canada, and snow is a comin’. Plus, it was an unusually cold summer, so I choose warm.

  40. Right now in my life, I would choose a warm cabin with a blazing fire, a soft fleece blanket, hot chocolate with some butterscotch snapps. Snuggling with my hot husband and leaving the book on the nightstand.

  41. Hmmm…let’s see…crowds, lines, loud kids & overpriced, lousy food vs. peace & quiet in a cozy cabin, while sipping wine (or a Baileys & coffee) with my love? I think you know what i would choose. 🙂

  42. Boy that is tough. I love the idea of both of them. I would so enjoy Disney and so would my girls. Even though we get snow here in Ct. I would still like the cabin too.
    I chose both 🙂
    deezie

  43. oooooh tough choice! Since I have two little munchkins…I think Disneyland. We used to have passes but we had to cut back and that was one of the things that had to go =). My 3 year old has been begging to see Sleeping Beauty’s castle.

  44. That’s an easy one, hands down I would choose the snowy cabin…I have a two day max when it comes to Disneyland. With two boys, I feel like I live in an amusement park all year long!!!

  45. Cabin under soft, comfy, warm blankets please! I would request a fireplace in that cabin to warm things up a bit. Living in Minnesota you would think I would not like that ida but spending a week in a cabin in the mountains sounds wonderful to me! Peace, calm, and quiet are what I am longing for.

  46. I live in MA and oddly enough, I would choose the cabin. Although I’m never ready for the cold to come, I absolutely love sitting by a fire and snuggling under a blanket with hot cocoa/tea (not so much a coffee drinker) and good friends all around.

  47. Definitely California!! I live in MN so half of our year is spent with snow cover – reading books, playing games, and snuggling by the fire.

  48. Oh I would choose the Mountains. I love them but they are so far away from us here in Texas. We are going to the Mountains the day after Christmas can’t wait.

  49. I would definitely choose the mountain cabin. Right now I feel the need for a getaway that is filled with peace and quiet. Reading a book with hot cocoa and surrounded by snow…..that sounds like heaven to me!

  50. I’m up here in Canada where the warm blankets are already in use, so Disneyland it would be!!! I would love to be there during the Christmas season…I’m sure it’s super magical!

  51. I live in Michigan so the snow thing is pretty much my everyday for at least 3-4 months a year. Thus, I have to pick California. I would love to see the western part of the United States since I have yet to travel that way.

  52. They both sound wonderful. I would choose Disneyland, though. That’s where we went for our honeymoon and I went there every summer of my childhood. I love it there! The music, the smells, the shuffle, the little storybook details everywhere. Hmmmm…I love it!
    Where would you go???

  53. I grew up in Chicago and winters there were HORRIBLE. I lived in Texas for 5 years and LOVED the heat……so I’ll go with anyplace that is warm! (Preferably Hawaii!)

  54. since i live where there’s plenty of snow and hot chocolate and book for months and months and months, i’d have to go with disney. the kids would LOVE it!
    blessings,
    shana

  55. can I have both??

I would probably pick Disneyland. We have been to Disneyworld in FL multiple times since grandparents live in FL and we love it. It would be fun to play Disney on the other coast. And we haven’t spent any time in CA. yeah, it’s Disneyland for us.

  56. I live in Minnesota. I will be spending the next several months in my snow covered house, reading, snuggling, and trying to stay warm! California for me!

  57. I am all about getting away to relax. My hubby would rather get away and play, but I’ve realized we are very different in this way. And that makes it interesting and fun.

  58. Oh, by far right now the mountain cabin, real snow (I’m in GA!), hot chocolate/coffee, lose myself in a great book, snuggle with my hubby and great conversations…ahhh, this is what I’d choose.
