i hand-wrote the words in cursive

and then transferred them to the sterling pendant.

the feather is also my own sketch.

so subtle. such a lovely message of hope.

it speaks to my soul.

  1. Hi,
I’ve looked on your website, and it appears this necklace is no longer available. I’d love to get one for my daughter, is there any way to still purchase it?

  2. Lisa,

What a beautiful creation! I saw it in the e-mail newsletter and immediately began tearing up. For years, I have felt an uncanny kinship with Emily Dickinson, being a poet… and suffering from unrequited love too often in my younger years. (And it might have a little something to do with my 11th-grade English teacher and some fellow students lovingly teasing me about being the new Emily Dickinson.)

So… as a poet/writer, a maker of jewelry (not as beautiful or professionally done as yours), a fan of Ms. Dickinson, and a Christian single who still lives in hope of marrying some day, this necklace spoke deeply to my heart.

But I already have one of your great pieces! —> the “illuminate” necklace, which is my life word. I couldn’t really justify another purchase so soon, especially since I’m overflowing with quite the collection of jewelry and of my own jewelry-making projects. Still… I longed for this lovely, inspiring piece.

What did I do? I called my mother! She’s one with whom I can squee and giggle and ooh and aah with (you should have heard our conversation about this year’s Hallmark ornaments!). She said, “Andrea, why don’t you let me buy that for your birthday?” It was as if she was saying she truly heard my heart. (She has been such a patient listener to my laments over singleness through the years.)

Ultimately, hope is about our Heavenly Father’s plans for us… and really, about His being with us. He is the ever-present hope… as well as being the “on that day” hope.

I’m looking forward to my 35th birthday now, since I’ll have something special and beautiful to remember it by.

Thank you for sharing your talents, your joy, your warmth, your creative eye with us!!

  3. I love your pieces. I have a pretty bad metal allergy, but can sometimes do ok with pieces if I brush on nail polish on the back or if they are coated with lacquer. I wanted to see if your pieces are coated or just the bare metal. I would love to order something, but wanted to make sure I would be able to wear them! If they are coated all over, will that wear off? Just curious how I’d polish them back up as well. You are very talented….thank you for sharing your talent with us all! Blessings.

  4. I got your email today about your new pieces…and I love them! I read how you will be searching for and seeking out hope in the next week/s to come b/c of David’s surgery. Perfect how you have this new piece to keep you grounded and remind you that hope is near! If you have a Bible, read Matthew 6:25-6:26…it will give you great insights about the birds of the air and worry…perfect for what you have created in this piece of jewelry and perfect for your families’ circumstance right now. Thinking about you!

  5. I wished I had something like that to give my mom when I had my open heart surgery. Its been about 4 years now, I was only 20 when they did it. It was an experiance to say the least. But everything was perfect.

  6. Lisa, I received my necklace yesterday and it is even more beautiful than these pictures show!! Thank you for your creativity and beautiful ideas!!

  7. Hope
My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word. Psalm 119:81 (ESV)
But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” Lamentations 3:21-24 (ESV)
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:1-5 (ESV)
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12 (ESV)
For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. 1 Timothy 4:10 (ESV)

Beautiful necklace! These verses encouraged me so much in the last couple of weeks. It may be a really long comment, but when I tried to narrow it down I couldn’t.

  8. Those words are so lovely and they stirred my soul. I always try to look on the bright side of life (not always successfully I might add) and there isn’t a day when I don’t smile at something. I hope I continue to smile each day no matter what is happening around me.

My hubby needs reminding about hope. He is in a mid-life crisis type of place and is facing possible major changes in his working life at the age of 60. All he seems to be able to do is worry about the future and not having the material things he’s used to. He needs hope to realise that it’s the simple things in life that matter most! I really HOPE he gets that one day! Love you dear hubby and the way you’re feeling right now makes me sad! Life is just too short to worry in advance! Smiles (see there’s still a smile in my heart)

  9. I love the new necklace! It really speaks to me right now because I just found out this week that I have breast cancer (again) and I will be going in for a second mastectomy. I’m holding tight to hope, and the love of my family.

  10. Hi Lisa

So lovey\ly so sweet – just like you!

To me hope looks like smiling faces and a sunny day.

    Thank you Lisa,

    xoTiffany

  11. Oh, Lisa!! It’s beautiful . . . and has become my favorite in your offerings, as well! I can think of at least 6 women {myself included!} that could use some hope — and a beautiful necklace to remind them to keep their minds and hearts open for it!

  12. I do know someone who needs this necklace, very much so. I’m trying to figure out where the money will come from to buy this for her. She is a Christian mother (and a good friend) who has been charged with the murder of her adopted 4 year old daughter. It is a terrible situation and she is trusting the Lord that the truth will be revealed. Please pray for her and her husband who has also been charged with abuse and failure to protect. They need prayer desperately! They have had their bio daughter taken away as well.

  13. lisa – you are so creative!!!! love this necklace!!!! another thing to put on my birthday/christmas list.

  14. Love It!! I have a quote about hope on our CF shirts from last year’s fundraiser. It says, “Hope makes the world beautiful” Hope quotes are some of my favorite! Beautiful design from a beautiful designer. Keep up the artistic and simply precious work!
