friday love {instagram}

It’s Friday {I am thrilled!} and I’m linking up with Jeannett at Life Rearranged to share cell phone pics from the week.Matthias’ birthday cake was super colorful and pretty yummy too!

Saturday mornings usually involve pancakes around here. Sometimes with blueberries and chocolate chips baked in, and bananas and syrup on top!

Sometimes an apron can come in very handy.

Left, Steve and I managed to squeeze in a date night last weekend and it was so fabulous! Right, Sunday was Matthias’ actual birthday. We went to CPK for lunch and then let him pick out books at Barnes and Noble. So fun.

David fell asleep in the car and Matthias held his hand. And my heart melted.

My friend Brenda surprised me with flowers this week. I felt so loved!

This feather chandelier at Sally Loo’s caught my eye. Isn’t it adorable?

Mmmm, coffee really makes mornings better.

A very chilly winter afternoon and some birdies hanging around.

David’s new favorite activity is to dump all the crayons out of the box. It’s a pain to clean up, but it’s a colorful mess.

This weekend is mellow—which is just what we need! What are your weekend plans?

  1. It’s funny what caught my eye in this post. If you saw our crayons dumped out, you would know we have a girl, cause all the pinks and purples are used up. For you, it is the blacks and grays, cause that’s what boys use most. Funny! And I adore your cake. Might be stealing the idea…

  2. Dear Lisa, I just finished reading your article in Somerset Life.
You have beautiful sons and can see David’s beautiful soul in his eyes.
    Thank you for sharing. Melissa

  3. That picture of Matthias holding David’s hand is so precious! Have a lovely weekend. Today we’re shoveling around 5″ of snow! Its a winter wonderland here in New York:) Our Saturday mornings are always a big family breakfast day. Sometimes its homemade waffles but today will be a variety of blueberry and cinnamon bun pancakes with a yummy homemade icing as syrup. indulgent!

  4. My heart melted at the picture of the boys holding hands! So sweet. And I love that Matthias picked out books for his birthday. It’s wonderful knowing that children enjoy reading. It’s definitely a love worth instilling in them.

  5. I began following your blog after seeing your gorgeous jewelry on Pinterest and especially love your pics and Instgrams. As an elementary school librarian, my heart was happy to read about the trip to B&N to pick books for a birthday gift! My weekend involves lots of reading (both kids stuff to advise my readers and a good adult book). 🙂

  6. Great pics (as usual!) My plans for this weekend include working a nightshift tonight then taking it easy on Saturday. Sunday will be groceries then the kids over for a nice roast dinner! Oh, and I have a manicure booked for Saurday afternoon – such a treat!

  7. I love stopping by & checking out your posts. My son was born a low birthweight baby & your son David holds a little place in my heart. The picture of your boys choked me up a little, how sweet 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  8. ahhh, so glad it’s Friday! Actually this weekend is full of work and fun – my boys are spending the weekend away and we have plans to clean up our Sunday School classroom and then a couples’ child free date at a Japanese restaurant! then, some Target therapy! 🙂
