  1. I am a day late in posting my response.
Wishing you & your family many happy memories in your new home.

    My to-do list for yesterday:

-Take kids to water fountains (they are above ground & the kids run through them)- as a side note, when my kids see this as the #1 thing to do every.single.summer.day. they are ECSTATIC!

-I am redoing my laundry closet & spackled 39 holes from the previous owners.

-Out of 47 shades of blue, I knew in a heartbeat which one to paint on the wall.

    -Read.

  2. Congratulations Lisa on the move to your new home! Today I am helping my husband wrangle a baby Yak and Wallaroo for a TV spot he is doing representing our drive thru safari park in Oklahoma. Then back to wrangling our two boys!

  3. Isn’t a new house such an exciting adventure? On my list I have buy holiday supplies, a classroom to declutter and photos to process. But the sun is calling and I think lots of that will have to wait just another day 🙂

  4. YAY new house!
Missing tweezers?! I keep a spare in my purse at ALL times…a lot of growth can happen in 2 days time 😀

  5. Wow Lisa! That sounds crazy. Congratulations on the big move though. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help- even if it’s come over and fold laundry for a day 🙂 I would love to. And I could bring coffee or Nucci’s. Have fun in Utah. Praying for you! Xoxo

  6. reading a ton of baby books getting ready to welcome of first little one in September! Cannot wait. So things are still a little crazy around here, too. 🙂

  7. Looking in my mailbox every day for a package from the amazing you!! Cannot wait towear my bracelet and earrings my hubby bought me for mother’s day..love your stuff more than chocolate!!!!

  8. Oh, and then I get to move my laptop out of my studio and into the main house and I can take some of my art projects into the living room and make a MESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS… only me to see it! yippeeeeee. Ahem… I miss him already though! Giggle..

  9. oooh love those books! I’m a book fanatic and have a whole bookcase of gardening books alone. My to do list – ummm took dear hubby to airport for his month long trip away.. a few tears were shed on the walk back to the car. He was so grumpy over the weekend – not what I needed when he is going away for so long – it was just the stress of the trip that was getting to him. Then on to the supermarket for some treats – a great perk when he’s away.. better food, better wine, little ‘me’ treats! Off to doctor to see what’s stuck in my eye! Something has been in it for 2 days and no amount of rinsing is budging it – I fear it could be a hair that is curled around itself at the bottom of my eye. No fun!! Wish me luck!!

  10. we picked up our 7 year old granddaughter, Lydia, and are packing for a camping trip to big Sur… providing she is not breaking out with chickenpox… she has some itchy bites that don’t look like chicken pox, but she has gotten two more since she arrived at noon. No fever – just as lively as ever!!

I absolutely know what you mean about tweezers! I’m lost without mine. In fact, I keep an extra one in my car.

    Enjoy you busy week.

  11. I had to laugh when you said you couldn’t find your tweezers, which was a mini crisis for you. haha! I often sit in horror thinking about when I’m 90 years old sitting in the nursing home, who will find my tweezers for me…. and will I have the wits about myself to remember that “single solitary freak of nature long hair” that grows from under my chin. Amazing what people think about right? haha!

  12. Oh Lisa, that is so funny about you “hijacking internet!” I did the exact same thing a couple months ago when i was in the process of moving!! I couldn’t afford to go into Starbucks for a $4 coffee drink each time i needed to get online. 🙂 Best of luck to you…i know how stressful things can be, but it WILL get done.

  13. Are those your books in the picture? If so, you’ve inspired me to remove my dust jackets because they look so much better without!
My list today has involved checking out of my classroom for the summer (finally!!), getting the ingredients for fondue at the store for our annual dinner of “last night of school fondue!”, letting someone else take care of my kids for an afternoon, and just taking a deep breath.

    Good luck finding your makeup!

  14. congrats on the new house! If it makes you feel better, skipping one day with the tweezers is a crisis for me 🙂 Can we say “unibrow’?

  15. Wow, that’s crazy! My to-do list just has one item for the next couple of days: Don’t fail the exam!

  16. i’m working on a HUGE shop update, hiring a new assistant (or 2), and preparing for my in-laws to visit for the weekend.

xxoo to you, Lisa! :] can’t wait to see your new home — such a fun adventure!

  17. I actually wrote a to-do list today! Library, fabric shop, grocery, drop off perscription, email a childbirth class client, blah blah blah.

The stacks of old books are lovely! Is that your land in the landscape??

  18. Great post, moving is such a chore, but worth it. On my Simmer list are many books to read, many quilts to make, and this week is my hubs’ 70th and we’re having a party!, and family photo shoot.

  19. just more mission:summer organization. i’ve got to get my ducks in a row or this summer of being pregnant and having 5 kids home all the time might do me in. last week was pretty crazy, but it’s possible we might be starting to get into a groove! hopefully one of these days it will feel more normal and routine!
    blessings,
    shana

  20. on our list today is…
the first day of vacation bible school…
cooking out tonight to celebrate the first day of summer…
    popsicles…
and listening to the beach boys…it’s summer!
