Steve and I are away this weekend celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary. I didn’t pack any diapers or snacks or medicines. Just my clothes and make up. We’ll be sleeping in and eating out and generally laying around. I’m looking forward to staying up late chatting with him, holding his hand as we walk around Santa Barbara and reading a couple books. Of course, I’m missing the boys but it’s so good to get some time together, just him and I. Everyday life, the to-dos and the mundane wear us down. It’s good for us to steal some time, get away and focus on being a couple. Thirteen years and counting–I love ‘us’.

Last weekend my husband and I visit Amsterdam, just the 2 of us…it felt so good and then I knew, everything is still good, we have the time of our lives, just him and me. Like the beginning, when I was 16 and he was 18…(now im 38 and he 40!)
